Damn that sounds heavy for being the 1SS. I can just imagine the weight drop from my 2SS seats

A couple inches with a fixed seating position. But none when I used the sliders.

So I ended up fix mounting it the the base with the side brackets. Which is no big deal since I'm the only one that ever drives it.
Now I just need someone to walk me through tricking the airbags with a resistor.
I'm putting my EVO 2 in this weekend. Did you ever figure out were to put the resistor for the air bag?

Sorry to bring up an old thread :/

Anyone successful with passenger seat occupancy sensor? From what I know, we can trick the air bag light with a resistor so the light doesn't come on and the airbags can deploy will deploy in the event of an impact.

However in doing so, the car will sense someone is in the passenger seat 24/7 correct (since airbag will be armed 24/7)? Nothing wrong with that but now wouldn't the passenger seat belt have to put on at all time?

I'm thinking the only way this can be done correctly is to put the passenger occupancy sensor into the aftermarket seat while tricking the resistor for the deleted seat airbags.

Such a hassle FML

Me too. Full details seem to be lacking on this particular change.

There is no issue if you leave the stock seats in!

I plan on tackling this over the winter with a spare seat that will be dismantled............

I talked to gen5DIY, they told me that they were close on figuring it out, and to call back in a month or so..... after 3 months of calling them, they informed me that the drivers side was easy, its the passenger side that was giving them a problem.

They also told me that they were going to step away from this project for awhile because of the stress of it.

I haven't called them back in some time now.

I was wondering how hard it would be or if you were to swap the factory seat air bags over to a lightweight race seat so there would be no issues to deal with for airbags or lights...
