The ZL-1 is an awesome car Chevrolet did a good job. The hell Cat will also be an awesome car and like it has already been said see you at the track and then we will see which is faster. I bet the ZL-1 will win some and the hell cat will win some. Get John Force to drive and the car he is driving (ZL-1 or Hell Cat) will win. I been racing a long time and when you start talking trash and getting cocky you start screwing up and what should have been a win becomes a loss. If you say you have never lost one you should have won then you have not raced except in your mind.

Why would anyone want to run a manual transmission for drag racing these days? You're just asking to loose. All smart drag racers have known for a very long time that automatics are where it is at in that world. You guys in your manual ZL1s, challengers and GT500s enjoy getting your butts kicked by four door automatic hellcat chargers. I'll be happy listening to you blow off about how the computer drives my car for me while I'm first to pick up my time slip from the window on the return line. These hellcat threads are very funny. I love you all from both sides of this. Oh and I'll beat many of you in my automatic ZL1 too just to add insult to injury.

99.99% of the miles you put on your car are NOT on a drag strip. Many enjoy the engaging experience of a manual transmission while driving. It's not ALWAYS about a few tenths. |

Then why are you and others bringing up those tenths and track times in all of these hellcat threads? As far as having an engaging experience is concerned, I've had many in many automatics and manuals. It didn't make much difference. Infact they were so engaging that people used to be afraid to ride with me. Those days are over and luckily none of us died. Point is, any car can be engaging if you want it to be. Manuals are for people that have control issues. I used to be one. Let go of your grip someday and maybe you'll get to experience real joy in a car. Gear jamming is outdated. Are you also typing your posts on a commodore 64?

I must admit that when drag racing the manual, I can hit the limiter a little hard from time to time or not get the clutch right and bog the launch a little but unless you can consistently run in the 10's your are not going to beat my manual car very often. I can say honestly that at my local track, pretty much nobody that comes in with a license plate on the car is winning 2 out of 3. The clutch is costing me some time but if you can drive you can still win races with the manual. I guess my point is if you think you can whip everyone that gets in the ring with one arm tied behind their back you just haven't found the right fighter yet. If you have enough power, the skill or lack thereof is rather insignificant. But the Hellcat has a long way to go....

You might think that phone-sex is just as engaging as the real thing. I have to disagree. Maybe a good romping is "outdated", but I still enjoy the hell out of it. Call me old fashioned...at 34. |
