Is the hook locked in the position that it is in, or does it swivel up and down? Can it hit the body of the car?

How could you drill the hole in the right spot without removing anything?

Could you just leave the hook in all the time so you don't have to use the plug?

The hook is locked in that position but even if it was loose there is enough clearance it would not hit the body.

The kit comes with a paper template that pinpoints the drill location.

You could definitely leave the hook in all the time. Only concern I would have is someone stealing it.

Did you install the rear hook? How easy/hard was that?

Yes. Easier than the front. Again, the only issue I had was old/dull drill bits and half of my tools are at my apartment in CA.

It is very easy to take the rear bumper off, only two screws and a few push pins hold it. Most of it is clipped in. Where the side markers are you pull that out and the pull the rear off.

I can make a video of how to pull the rear bumper.

The tow hooks have a set screw so you can position the D ring at any angle or keep it from not touching the body.

You can call anytime day or night we can walk you though how to remove rear bumper.
It takes more skill to install the receivers than remove the rear bumper.

If you are worried about the paint you can tie a rag around the inside when it is being towed.

Do you have a video for installing the front tow hook on a '13 ZL1?
