Two step is basically a 2 wire setup. It can be operated by a button on your shifter or clutch pedal or a button on the steering wheel. Which ever your more comfortable having it. It is only activated when you want it to be. Id personally put it on the shifter (cuz I use pistol grip handles only) to release the same time id dump the clutch. It only limits rpm nothing else. The way it works is extremely useful for turbos and manual trans or lencos when load is not possible at staging. You can even run a three step. That is a multiple rpm limiting device that could further improve things with the launch rpm and high limiting shift rpm so you could no lift shit to boot.
Any more questions please ask away..ive been there done this a time or two. Fyi...two step is not hard on anything but your senses till you get used to it. |

You can activate a two step anyway you choose. Its like 8o bucks or so or you can make the stock ecu do this as well I believe.

Car is still in the shop. Hopefully I can pick it up Tuesday. But there is a 500 mile clutch break in. So also hope fully I will have that done by Friday and Saturday with back to back running.

More delays. But I think for the good. 2 Step not going in, but a line lock is.
Adding new injectors: Injector Dynamics (1025 cc / 96 LB HR AT 58 PSI) Along with the ADM ZL1 pump controller. The car is done except for the injectors and tune. With this setup if I add Meth, the stock LS3 bottom end is the limiting factor as to how much power I can add. (I think.) Another 1LE recorded 800+ RWHP with my setup and Meth. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=378782 Amazing. Just the AGP kit, injectors, pump controller, meth kit, and a tune. Tire shredder. Although, to be usable a new clutch and a little suspension work is required. And tires. But since long term durability is my goal, I hope to be happy with my new high boost setting. Ted is great to work with. He is willing to explain anything you ask.

Whats the line lock for besides a burn out? You cant load the car with a manual trans and a line lock. Just sayin.

I am not ruling out a 2 step if I get more serious about drag racing. But with a better clutch I should be able to get a more consistent 60'. Right now it's 1.7-2.0. Ted didn't think for what I was using the car for it made sense. And I would get the best benefit with slicks. Once I put slicks on the car I better put in stronger axles. And then the diff is at risk. As you say there would be benefit, but really it came down to $$ and time in the shop. The car has already been in the shop 2 1/2 weeks. But say at some point I do get serious, I would go auto, slicks, a 9 inch rear, add meth, pump up the boost to 800 rwhp, and start removing weight. Then low 10s should be pretty easy. And then my 1LE would be awful at autocrossing. But I have not tried that yet. A future obsession. I will have to start a new thread: Twin Turbo 1LE versus 2008 Miata.
