Please tell me this has been cured by someone. Here is my video after I got the car up to running temp, shut it off for 5 minutes, and popped the hood to take the video.

What are yall thinking? It really seems like a fuel boiling issue since the pressure rises and then drops off after the injectors fire.

Sorry, I see that this thread is quite OLD but I am facing same issue with hard hot engine start.
I found this topic in GOOGLE and decided to share this info.
http://www.nastyz28.com/forum/showthread.php?t=214048

Any thoughts?
Has someone already solved similar problem?
Please let me know!

I took my car to the dealership but they found nothing wrong with my car, except partially dead battery (my car has 45K and the battery is still original one, so I can accept that). They proposed to change my battery at my own expenses coz it is not covered by limited warranty but I declined that. However I've installed a new battery I bought just today. Well, on the cold engine it crancs a way better but when the engine is hot (assuming that starter is also hot) - still slow cranking :( Needless to say I am upset..

Ima go ahead ad keep this old post alive.

2011 SS manual, doing this same thing others have had. Hot here in Saint Louis today, real hot! I almost didn't get her started after gassing up. When it did the Stabilitrack was disabled and service stabilitrack light was on. Also my TACHOMETER was dead! I shut it off on a parking lot hill since ithought I was going to pop starting it if I shut her off. But it reluctantly started with the same results. I went ahead and busted a move home while it was still running but it ran horrible.

Im going to check battery and codes tomorrow, but its cooled off in garage and starts and functions perfectly at present time. I did not have a CEL and haven't seen one since I put cam in Texas Speed did my computer and I plan to talk to them next week.

If a inspection of my wires and such turn up negative Ill try a battery its 4 years old and isn't driven very often. I'm thinking an Optima or Oddesy battery for the amount it sits between uses.

I purchased a 'duracell platinum' from batteries plus -- really cranks it over!

Same issue. The only reason why I look forward to cold weather. My supercharger likes it and my car will crank without having to wait 15-20 mins.

It's the battery!!!!!

I just recently fixed this issue with my car.

I first replaced the starter. That solved it for ~1 or 2 weeks, then it started happening again.

I subsequently purch'd a new battery. Baby fires right up after parking, even if I've been sitting in Houston traffic in this God-awful Houston heat.

Another option that may help is hood vents, or some way to allow that heat to escape the engine bay. I've considered hex vents, but I just don't have the inclination to cut my hood, and I don't have the $$ to pay someone to do it for me...

My dad had a Caddy V8 that wouldn't crank well when it got hot.

The flywheel was expanding when heated up and was binding against the starter teeth. The starter needed to be shimmed to allow for more teeth clearance when hot.

Well, not sure the new battery is 100% the fix here....sorry to drag up an old thread here, but I'm going to figure this shit out.

I have been running the new battery for months now - not a single issue. Made it through the miserably hot part of the summer (at the end of it now...) and just got the code thrown on a hot start this past weekend.

I think I'm going to try the Powermaster starter next. Will hopefully update with positive results.

Keep us updated. Mine does the same thing with a hot start, but its not my DD and I rarely drive the car so I haven't bothered trying to fix it.

I have the exact same problem. The car starts fine when cold. It happened to me twice making a fuel stop about 5 mins from my house, go to crank the car back up and the engine doesn't start all way. I thought my battery was going bad but I just replaced with a new battery and do not think it fixed the problem. I tested the same scenario this morning. The car started again after pumping gas but still sounded very weak and seemed to struggle when starting. I'm glad I found this thread as it seems others are having this problem as well. Hopefully we can figure this out.

I've been running Premium Gas from Race Trac. I may switch to a different gas just to see if there is any difference.

Like others here, dragging up an old post.
I live in the Middle East at the moment so the temperatures are extreme... I was about to purchase a new battery but looked on here to see if it was the starter or something else... Anyone found any cures?

Sav123 I tried a new battery but no luck for me. It still does it. Cold Starts are fine and no problem. It seems to be when the car is warm it struggles to fire up the same way as when the car is cold. I haven't seen an actual fix yet either.
