Compact spare tire?

I did not opt for the compact spare tire option for $150 bucks on my RS, but now would like to have one?

The dealer can sell me the rim but I have been unable to find anyone who knows or can get the tire for it? The dealer says no idea and GM customer service said they have no idea, check the dealer?

Anyone know who manufactured the tire that is on the 2010 camaro compact spare?

thanks!

Wow! The dealer can't get the whole thing? That sounds really odd.

Sorry to take this thread a bit off topic but it's a related question. Can someone post some pictures of the trunk with the spare and with the tire sealant kit. I want to see how much room they take up and so far I haven't seen a picture of the Camaro's trunk.

Thanks Dragom, those are great shots. Can you also get a picture from further back? So we can also see the opening of the trunk.

Did the dealer give you a price for the wheel? Also, how much for the jack and any mounting hardware? Please let us know if you're able to track down the tire as well. Thanks

Perfect Dragom, I see the spare tire doesn't actually take up any additional trunk space. It stores under the rug in a space designed for the spare tire, just like a normal car. At first I thought if you opted for the spare it would sit in the trunk above the carpet where it would take up what little space you have.

Great thanks, thats all I needed to see.

Do they make a spare for the SS. I thought they only made it fot the V6 could be wrong.

Thanks Dragom! I can get the rim from GMPARTSDIRECT.COM for like $50.00 or so. I will now hunt down a tire, so the brand will be helpful. Will Let others know what I find. Spare will not work for SS- Brakes too big.

best
