Put some strength into it and when YOU think its tight enough, tighten another 1/2 turn.

Just tighten it. No advice can be given because its the most basic thing to deal with, tighten the clamp until its.....tight. Shouldnt move after its tightened.

If it does, and everything is as tight as you can get it, the clamp may be bad/stripped.

Not trying to make you feel bad lol, but its like asking how to turn a screw.

Also, it doesnt matter if the clamp is inside or outside the airbox, as long as there is a good seal all the way around. I think mine is mostly outside (in the engine bay)

Hmmm... never heard of this issue. Congrats! You're a first! And by the way, the recommended way to attach the filter to the intake "hose" is to put the clamp on the outside of the box. It allows the rubber boot from the filter to flex a little so the movement from engine torque shouldn't come into play.

IM HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. JUST INSTALLED MY INTAKE YESTERDAY. I POPPED THE HOOD TODAY TO CHECK IT AND MY AIR FILTER CLAMP WAS DIGGING INTO THE BOX. ITS A BRAND NEW INTAKE. I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO "ADJUST" ANYTHING TO MAKE IT WORK. IT LOOKS LIKE IT'S JUST NOT A PRECISE FITMENT (NOTHING IS PERFECT). THE TUBE IS MADE AT AN ANGLE THAT DOESN'T REALLY COMPLEMENT THE HOLE IN THE BOX WELL.

Strange. If it's a CAI, Inc. intake it should fit perfectly. Every one I've seen does. Hose/filter clamp on the OUTSIDE of the box. Use a nut-driver if you can't get it tight enough with a screw driver.

I tried and everytime I get it tight the filter slips off the intake tube... Im at work so when I get off I will take it out and try to make any adjustments or clean any oil thats on the tube but the box itself lines up with the curves of the car fine.

funny thing is when I installed the intake. everything looked perfect. I take a look at it today and it seem like nothing wants to go right with it now. its frustrating.
