(Replacing Factory 6X9s with Aftermarket)
Today I will simply replace my stock Boston Acoustic factory 6x9s with Pioneer's top end Premier TS-942P 6X9s. Eventually when my sub boxes are built, I will go ahead and rewire to the aftermarket amp for greater preformance. My question is to anyone else who has completed this, how exactly do I get that plastic off in the black window. OMG it looks soo difficult.
After I complete this, I will replace the components in the door which gets complex! I'm just throwing this out there but to anyone who replaced all there in car speakers, did you properly steal signal from ALL four speakers around or did you just splice off the rear speakers? Splicing off the rear speakers kills the front back fade speaker adjustments in the audio controls so you wont be able to make the back louder than the front if you wanted too situation depending. Shaun

Why not just use the existing amps wiring harness? Cut the harness off and separate all the wires and just plug them into the new amp when you get it.

I put in a new amp...I used the existing wires to get to the front components...and I put in new wire for the rear 6x9.
Also you are going to be unhappy when you get to the 6x9 hole, you need to make a nice new mounting plate for them! So get some 1/2"MDF ready, and some dynamat to seal it all up. As for removing the panel....you need to remove everything around the rear seats, rear windshield area, and to make it easier the rear seat! Then you will finally be able to remove the rear panel. It is prone to breaking or cracking because it has so many darn clips in it. SO be very careful |

To get it all out you will need to pull out the front seatbelts, and the rear seat. |

I took a good look at the side panels and I couldnt figure out even where to start. Is there a step by step process to this? I'm soo desperate to get those speakers out of there and place in my Premiers. I'm getting fustrated with the process :( . For the record, I managed to take off the four clips that are directly behind the seat connected to the rear panel. I also took off the two clips (one on each side) that hold the carpet in the trunk walls on that are located near the rear seat and they were hard to get to. How many clips??? Shaun
