Thats a little different than what I saw reported, but I can certainly see that happening there. I was just there having my SC replaced at Munday. Even from there, you have to cross the lanes of the feeder, and keep a vigilant eye on those exiting 45. Way too many fatalities.

this is truly the saddest part of our society nowadays. people saw this and did nothing. i just hope one of them got a pic or something and not just "a hispanic lady walked out and then drove away" and nothing else

Yeah, there were folks helping and tried to revive one of them with a pulse. Pretty sad to hear the comments from emergency workers. One who died had a letterman's jacket on so probably in High School.

I see know the news is now corroborating what you posted. Were you trying to get home through that? It seemed like 45 was backed up all the way to about 610. I am in Midland, so don't really know, other than hearing about it and instructing my crew working at Ensign's yard (trying to get back to Magnolia) to try to avoid that area totally.

Luckily I'm off this week so didn't have to go South. But my daughter in law sat for 3 hrs in traffic.

I don't think so but then the car had Utah plates so may have been from out of town.

1 - They look around for a few minutes to make sure nobody saw
2 - They quickly drive off to find another space..
3 - They get out and act like nothing happened and walk on their merry way....
Though I doubt this would be considered a hit and run since she wasn't the one who was speeding at a good rate of speed. If the camaro was not described as speeding and she clipped them sending their car into the pillar then that would be hit and run. Well if your paying attention while driving, you could tell that a car is coming your direction at 85 mph.

(b) An operator of a vehicle required to stop the vehicle by Subsection (a) shall do so without obstructing traffic more than is necessary.

so in stead of staying and waiting, she's looking at a 2nd degree felony.

Camaro Accident - Houston, TX

Not sure if anyone has seen this yet. Happened last night in Houston, TX. RIP to those kids. Sad story

http://abc13.com/news/three-killed-i...county/420936/

UPDATE: Authorities identified the victims as Larry Jessamy, Sarid Shahdaiah and Quincy Williams.
Two of the victims were students at Dekaney High School in the Spring Independent School District, according to district officials. Counselors are available on the campus to help students and staff deal with the deaths.

ORIGINAL STORY:
A speeding car Wednesday crashed into a overpass crossing Interstate 45 in north Harris County, killing the driver and two passengers and tying up traffic for hours, Harris County Sheriff's deputies said.
The driver lost control of a Chevrolet Camaro about 3:45 p.m. along the northbound I-45 feeder road near Paramatta.
Deputy Derek Wilkie a sheriff's accident investigator, said they were not able to immediately identify the three people inside the car but they appeared to be men in their 20s or 30s.

He said a witness reported seeing the Camaro driving at least 80 mph along the access road just prior to the crash.
"But that (speed) has yet to be determined," Wilkie cautioned.
A woman driving a van apparently left the freeway and moved onto the access road and then immediately pulled to the far right lane, where the Camaro was, Wilkie said.
The driver of the Camaro swerved to avoid a crash, but the two vehicles did strike each other. The car veered across the lanes before hitting the far left curb and launching into the air, deputies said.
Wilkie said the driver of the van stopped for a few moments then drove away without offering any assistance or leaving behind any way to identify her.
"We just need to interview the driver of the van and see what happened," Wilkie said.
The car apparently struck a curb on one side of the feeder road then crossed over and struck the curb on the opposite side. The Camaro launched into the air, slamming into a pillar at the Paramatta overpass, deputies at the scene said.
The force of the impact caved in the roof of the car. Deputies compared the effect to stepping on a soda can.
"It was an extremely violent crash," said Harris County Sheriff's Sgt. Mike Harvey.
The Camaro had a Utah license plate, and deputies said there is no indication it was stolen.
The driver, a front seat passenger and a backseat passenger were killed on impact.
Deputies weren't immediately able to get to the bodies because of the condition of the car.
Although a service station and a car dealership are near the scene, deputies said they haven't located any security camera videos that might shed some light on what happened.
Deputies closed off the northbound feeder road at the scene. The crash and the investigation caused major traffic delays for hours both along the freeway and nearby side roads.

So the minivan basically pulled in front of them and the swerved to avoid a collision? (that's how I read it.)
Very very sad! Don't speed. It's pretty sorry that the van didn't stop and stick around!

I decided a few things about my car on day 1.

-I will NOT drive crazy and irradically with friends/other people in the car. I may hit the gad every once in a while, but nothing that will put them in danger.
-I may go a little over the limit on back roads/freeways, but school zones, residential areas, inner city etc. is a slow zone for me.
-If I am being an idiot in my car, I will be alone, and make sure there is no chance of me hurting anybody else but myself.

Showing off and speeding/drifting/racing, etc. is careless. IMO, if someone is driving like an idiot with me in the car, they do not care about me and my life.
