WOW!

Great price and the quality looks outstanding.

Couple things that I noticed right off the bat...you're using a large filter and you don't have the MAF on a 'bend' in the intake pipe. Nice.

Very impressive!

You mentioned possible heat transfer issues with the stainless vs. the plastic...have you done any testing to determine the actual differences?

Also, are you still planning a version of the CAI for Magnusons? Thanks!

This becomes a difficult thing to quantify; however, its common knowledge that stainless steel conducts (or transfers) heat at a much higher rate than plastic. Therefore, the stainless steel tube will transfer more heat from the outer wall of the tube to the inner wall. As the incoming air travels through the inlet elbow, it will pick up the heat from the inner wall. The amount of heat picked up depends on the thermal conductivity of the material.

Plastic transfers heat slower; therefore, less heat is transferred to the inner wall. Some will say it doesn't matter once the tube is heat soaked-not true. Even when the tube is hot the rate of tranfer will be slower with the plastic tube. I would consider our opinion to be very neutral since we offer a plastic tube or a stainless steel tube with our intake.

As for Magnuson applications, we already have many intakes on S/C vehicles. Some are fabricating their own tube. One said they were able to use the supplied Magnuson tube with our air box and MAF housing. I can tell you it doesn't align very well; however, they picked up 34 HP over the stock air box just by switching to ours!

Due to a large demand, we are planning on a plastic tube just for Maggie owners. However, we need to finish all of our N/A things first. Everything will be the same as our stock intake except the inlet elbow itself. The great thing about it is you can use our intake now while you are still stock, then change only the inlet elbow when you go to the Maggie.

We are waiting on numbers from a couple of tuners. So far, all testing has been done on cars with some sort of modification. I don't want to post #s that don't apply to a stock vehicle. All of the tuners using our air intake have told us the results have been very good.

We do have some intakes on stock vehicles. Drivablility and sound are very good, but none of these vehicles have been dyno tested.

We have been producing intakes for a few GM models running almost the same motor, so most performance related design issues were resolved before we had a Camaro in the shop. The MAF housing was our biggest variable, but it was tested by a couple of tuners before we had the rest of the intake together!

Are the oiled filters a threat to sensors or is that an "old wives tale?" I have run both types with no problems, but I am curious if there is any merit to the dry filter being safer debate.

Oiled filters are great!! The problems that people see are when they absolute soak teh filter with oil when they are cleaning it!! Then they do not let it dry before putting it in the car. If it is too wet you end up sucking it into the sensors.

Just make sur eyou allow the filter to dry overnight or at least a few hours befor eyou re-install after cleaning it!

Sounds good. I have an oiled filter in my 4th-gen and a dry filter in my GMC Sierra and have never had trouble with either.

I guess all my questions are answered and the Roto-Fab is my choice. Now, I just need the car.

We were the first to design a CAI system that actually works without throwing a check engine light and truly shows hp gains. Plastic does not heat soak as bad. I guess just like every market you will get people to try and copy our design. My post still stands that I am trying to get a magazine company involved to comlplete an un bias results of every CAI system on the market today. We are still waiting on other companies to step up to the plate. I am out to prove our system IS the best CAI system on the market!
