In "comparison" it handles poorly enough that it's power still isn't enough to make it compete at the top.

To ascertain a cars track/handling capabilities this makes for a very poor track choice. If anything it proves that all the Camaros tested are underpowered (we already knew this) given their handling capabilities.

Suppose we assume that the Mustang and the 1LE are a wash on acceleration. The comment concerning the chicane suggests that the 2015 Mustang gathers back most of the time between there and likely on the mirror-image left-right sequence that follows that it loses in the other corners. Nimbleness vs peak lateral g's, and this little course may specifically favor nimbleness more than any of the larger venues used for comparison testing.

As to the Hellcat and its handling, read the comment for the Kink, remembering that it's only got 275-wide tires to work with . . . and at nearly 2-1/4 tons of vehicle mass, its running at a tire to weight ratio about where a non-1LE SS would be with 245/45's all around.

The posted article did state that it is a very bumpy track. I know that mine does not like bumps. I would guess that the reason the 1LE is faster at VIR than the new Stang is because VIR isn't a bumpy as the Michigan Mile. But that is a guess...

I am running my 1LE at Laguna Seca tomorrow, I bet there will not be any 2015 GT's there bragging they are faster around the track....and I KNOW there won't be a Challenger, as it would probably be a DNF on turn 1.
