Especially since your shop will install 2 oil coolers, I'd recommend going with biggest line available to keep the oil pressure drop to the minimum. In my case, I used -12 AN. High # of rows on cooler cores will also reduce the pressure drop. This is actually the main advantage of using one big core instead of two smaller ones (assuming they are installed in series). Looking forward to your results.
Good advice, thanks. I also like the added oil capacity of larger lines. I'll pass this on to the shop.

Congrats and great job!! I've been thinking about what to do about a new track car and I'm tempted at getting a Z/28 but have also been tossing around the idea of just getting a open wheel car. The one thing that I am worried about with the Camaro's is their weight, not so much with the handling, or acceleration but the braking and the wear and tear on parts because of the additional mass we are throwing around. I would imagine your friend with the Ariel Atom has a cheaper time with maintenance no?
This summer I easily spent $5-6,000 on tires, brakes, fluids and other maintenance, just wondering if getting an open wheel car would be cheaper to maintain.

Glad to see this all worked out Todd, and I really enjoyed the Ariel Atom video.

Thanks! Do you have a car trailer and something worthy of pulling it? I don't so I like the idea of a car you can drive to the track. I pull a small trailer behind my Camaro with slicks and tools on it, it works surprisingly well. If I were to do it over again I'd probably get a Z/28 and keep the engine stock except for longtube headers, CAI and a tune. Then put in a rollbar, seats and a harness and enjoy. Or same thing with a C6 Z06, probably the smarter choice. Also lighter and less wear and tear.

If your pockets are deep, Vipers are probably the most reliable track car and wicked fast. The Gen V Viper is also a dream to track, no longer a handful like they used to be.

But I dig the open wheel cars too, whatever calls to you.
