I have a very strong dislike of the yellow color, and a philosophy on yellow car owners' sexual preference, but I won't share it, lets just say if you're female, go for it, lol. As for the manual or auto question, the others have given good advice. I'd say if you're up for learning to drive stick on someone else's vehicle first and are willing to suffer through the annoyance of constant clutching and shifting in high traffic areas, then go with manual. Its a much more fun driving experience, especially when pushing the car on a winding road or on the track. In my opinion there's nothing better and the car was made to be driven this way. If you are new to fast cars and don't plan on taking it to the track, then auto may be better for you. Keep in mind you'll pay a little more for the auto and availability of the manual is usually better. Totally up to you of course, hope you enjoy whichever you end up with, you won't regret the purchase!

Always loved yellow! Plus it looks sick on the ZL1. I prefer a manual in a car like this but the auto wouldn't be a bad thing.

Corsa is suppose to be one of the nicest on stock manifolds, plus no unwanted drone, but once you add headers I hear it can get a bit raspy.

I don't drag, road course only. For me a manual is as necessary, as strings are on a Gibson SG. I'm sure a computer could play guitar faster than me, but I'm positive something would be missing.

I wanted an auto but ended up with a M6. I'll tell you, the M6 is incredibly easy to drive. Theres nothing like banging down a gear and flooring it.

There is NO bad color for a ZL1.

As far as which trans, keep in mind that the auto is NOT your daddies powerglide. It's a fantastic transmission.

Shifting manually is fun, but if you do a lot of stop & go traffic, then the auto would probably be best for you.

Just normal city traffic is no problem with the manual.

I personally would go with a yellow/auto combo.

Man, asking US about what YOU should buy is like asking us to tell you to order Chinese or Italian for dinner - that is your decision. All you will get here are OPINIONS - which are worthless at the end of the day.

Look at and test drive and make up your own mind.

Only YOU know the color that makes you look back when you walk away from it. Only YOU know what hassle a stick might be in traffic.

I'm not being cavalier here but man, YOU are the one paying for it - buy what YOU like.

Best of luck to you.

Hell I'd drive a pink one if that's the only color they came in. The performance is that good!

Tell you this... I just rolled through, or should I say crawled through downtown LA freeway traffic in my M6.... It really sucked!!! So glad I live in San Diego and only have to visit family in LA a couple times a year.

When I got my ZL1 I went to the dealership to order a yellow auto and came home with a red manual. I will agree the standard is a bit of a pain in heavy traffic like seen in LA and Vancouver which are the two worse traffic cities in North America. But, the Red Tint Coat just POPS in the sunshine and shifting gears on a nice winding road or at the track is just good for the soul. There is no bad choice here and make sure to get some pics posted when you get your Z.
