As performance goes, my auto kicks butt! I don't race at the track so I'm not concerned about 1 or 2 tenths of a second if there is a difference. Whether it is an automatic or manual, enjoy the car for what it is, which is a beautiful piece of engineering and forget the "caveman" mentality that you need to have a manual transmission with a sports car.
Everybody has their reasons for going with the combo they did. For me, I knew the car would not stay stock. I've never left any vehicle stock. Something told me modding a vehicle with AFM was going to be more costly and guess what...

I also don't like running high stall converters on the street.

I got bit with the need to upgrade the clutch and add a separate reservoir, but I did not need to replace my six speed auto with a 4L80e either, and the car is still fully capable of road racing or quarter mile.

Do I perpetuate the trash talk of real men drive manuals? Of course, but there is a lot more to it than some "cave man" thinking. Everybody has their preferences and for a lot of folks the manual car meets their needs better than the auto does.

I'll 2nd the McRib but since those are seasonal I usually go for 2 doubles, a large fry and a coke. But I never eat in my car!! As for the auto manual debate, no doubt the manual is more fun but the auto does have 3 modes to chose from and I use them all as I chose.

If straight line performance is the goal, nothing wrong with an automatic. If ripping through the twisties is the goal, then the manual is a required option, at least when it comes to Camaros.

Stock for Stock on the camaro5 fast list the LS3/M6 has the fastest quarter time

auto or manual is like choosing a paint color. complete personal preference.
mickey d's on the other hand - I'll take two quarter pounders w/ cheese and other than an egg mc muffin ( fresh, not chewy please ) the rest of the menu is kinda nasty so *sold to you*. and I don't eat in the car.

Manual you are driving the car. Automatic you are riding in your car. Anybody can ride an automatic not everyone can drive a stick.

Clearly all the offended M6 guys came here.
A6 guys, stop being pricks and the M6 guys will stop mentioning a man pedal, driving vs riding in their car, AFM farty noises, slushboxes, making more power, etc.

IndyCars actually have hand clutches. They pull the clutch with left hand, shift with right hand.

I don't recall making any comments about which is better... they're both great...and while I prefer a manual, I certainly wouldn't kick an auto out of my driveway.

To each their own, and both excel where it matters....putting smiles on our faces...

And steer with their knees? Sounds dangerous.
