50,000 miles in two years

Hey all, lurker here again so I hit my 50 thousand mark in like 2 years or so maybe alittle less. And I gotta say after all the daily driving the car still puts a smile on my face. Now on to what I want to discuss about with you all, the tires specifically the OEM goodyears. Now I know about the life of these tires so does every one else, however I wanted to expand beyond what was really capable of milage especially the fronts and how they could hold up as safely for dd. So for 50000 miles the original fronts have been on, but the rears I replaced back at 25,000 all four tires have been changed now. I know it may sound like I put my self in danger and others but I constantly went to the tire shop every 3000 miles-ish after service checking on them for anything worse than tread wear. Soo heres what I discovered, the front tires at 50000 miles had the inlet water grooves vanished so that was the main concern for change. Not being able to funnel out water especially when turning eeeesh, also the fronts had great grip all the way through until about 35,000 miles then it became mediocre intresting note I could feel in heavy trafficed roads the fronts would pull into the grooves of the pavement like glass that kinda worried me a bit having to force the wheel straight, other than that they acted fine even in rain but consider I live in SC. On the rears nothing to report because like I said I changed them at 25,000 also to note on the rears I wasn't doing hard launches or burn outs or anything of that sort just day to day driving. So that's it, sorry for the long read but that's just my experience.

I dunno I just drive I really really love to drive lol I've done it with all the cars I've ever owned. And hopefully when this beast hits the 100,000 mark it will be as strong as the day I got it. Aside from the cosmetic road ware.

I agree that the GY G2 have more life in them than most people realize.

Daily Driver, although that is mostly to and from work one year mark was 8.5 K. So I would say about 18 K at the end of this year maybe less

Nice! Awesome you drive the shit out of yours. I daily drive mine all year round but won't get near that mileage, I'm averaging around 1K per month.

I live a lot closer to work now, and I'm married now, so that plays into a lot. But when I was younger, I put over 100K miles on a Honda CBR929 in a little under 4 years. Longish commute, a girlfriend going to college 40 miles away, and riding excursions every weekend with my buddies kept the miles racking up.

We are approaching the two year mark, and are on a 15K per year pace. As far as the tires, our rears were gone at about 15K, and had 4 new put on. Saved the fronts and will have them put on the rear in the next 1000 or so. Think we can get about 7.5K out of them. Bought it to drive, as most of you have, and agree it has been a blast.

PS: Sold this cars predecessors with about 200 K on both ('93 Z/28 and '01 WS6). As others have said, meant to be driven!

Nothing wrong with that OP, glad that you are enjoying your car. My tires still look very good and I just turned 11K miles. What cold tire pressures are you running?
