LSA Conversion and SMOG

Seriously considering the LSA Conversion by ADM and about ready to pull the trigger, however a doubt has been raised if the LSA supercharger is in fact SMOG legal?

My first thought would that it would be legal since its a GM factory part? Is there anyway to confirm this?

If the motor came in our cars and is newer than your existing one then you can get a exemption but from what I have been told it is not easy.

Just get linked up with the right tuner. You'll pass smog.

All I am doing is adding the supercharger to my existing motor...

you will be good unless u have someone who knows all about Camaros and puts 2 and 2 together then might require a CARB #. I doubt that would happen.

I don't believe adding an LSA supercharger is smog legal, even though another Camaro comes with it from the factory. Same way adding a Z28 CAI isn't smog legal. Whether you'll get busted for it is an entirely different thing.

To some extent.. I was just talking with a Smog shop owner just yesterday at work.. First thing he wanted to know was if my check engine light was still on.. Pretty much clarifying its all in the tune.. But i am no expert. Cunningham Would know better about such a topic..

With the new laws California no longer requires the "sniffer" right? Is it only visual and emissions test?
