+1 That's what I said -- but my post got ignored. I'm really interested in hearing thoughts on this.

Me too, MMT is clearly mentioned in the owners manual as do not use. It also states 91 and 93 are recommended fuels for the LSA??

How exactly is fuel getting on the rotors?

Sorry two different statements. The first part was the fuel additive, the second statement was about some people are using methanol coolant systems for the supercharger.

angryBits,jeb114,

From what I have been able to read my opinion is if you use it regularly every tank fill then expect possible issues with your emissions system likely the O2 sensors. I have also read issues with the spark plugs? The key factor is that there should be ZL1 owners that should have had a problem with using Torco by now? I haven't read any posts regarding that fact, have you? I understand that the manual says don't use it, the owners manual doesn't drive my car everyday either. The same manual that says to not exceed certain rpm's and speed limits for the first 1500 miles.

I have read the entire study on MMT and the only issue I can really find is
the possibility of restriction of the cats. If your using after market high flow cats or no cats at all I really don't see it being a issue. If you look on Torco's site it specifically says safe for o2 sensors and safe for cats.
GM Says its not recommended for use. I think this is for emissions purposes only. This is my opinion and should not be taken as gospel.

Some local stations where I live advertise ethanol free gas. Since it's perfectly legal to sell e10 in Kansas, I don't always trust that it's ethanol free. Besides that, any direction I head out on a road trip will have some mom and pop stations that may or may not have e10. I'd like to have some added "protection" especially during the summer where it can get over 100 degrees easily. What's the typical extra cost to get 93 octane through the use of Torco in a tank of 91 pump gas?

May be a little drive for you, In Stockton on Charter/hwy 4 west of I5 there is a 76 or Pacific Pride satiation that has always had 100 octane on tap. you may want to give them a call. Hope it helps

Check out this link for a spot in your area http://www.davebarton.com/Unleaded_Racing_Fuel_in_SoCal

I go to a location in my area that sells 100 octane at the pump and mix a little over 4 gallons with a nearly empty tank and then fill up with 91 octane.

Here are the formulas I use and it can be adjusted based on the fuel in your tank. It has worked fine for me for both cars that need the 93 octane.

Good Luck!

Nearly empty tank
15 gal x 91 octane = 1365 gal/octane
4.02 gal x 100 octane = 402 gal/octane
1365 gal/octane + 402 gal/octane =1767.0 gal/octane

¼ tank full 4.5 gal
12 gal x 91 octane = 1092 gal/octane
2.6 gal x 100 octane = 260 gal/octane
1092 gal/octane + 260 gal/octane =1342 gal/octane
1352 gal/octane/14.50 gal tank = 93.24 octane

1767.0 gal/octane/19 gal tank = 93.01 octane
