I'll give it a year a two and then pick up a used one around 45-50k.

You may find a new one still. I was looking around and found 2 new hot wheels camaros from 2013 in mid 30's. had a hard time passing that up.

Actually it only has one option, air conditioning and it comes with a sound system. That's pretty stripped down by modern standards. If you're talking performance equipment, which is standard, then it's loaded.

That's what I mean.. I just hate when people say it's stripped down.. It's fully loaded for what it was made for - the track. And at $70k it's really a steal. I have a friend that has a 911 GT3 that he uses just for the track.. And that's north of $130k and the Z28 can hang with it!!

And most people who buy THIS car do look at that. This car was not built for "most" people. And who buy it, enjoy it. The z/28 has extras that both the gt3 and the vette don't have standard (or at all) and that's the Brakes and the suspension which aren't cheap and help make the Z what it is today. This isn't a vette or a gt3, its a FREAKIN' CAMARO!

Interesting thread. Been lurking from for awhile. A couple of real life observations:
- First hand experience tells me that all of the numbers being thrown around mean nothing. Here is why: 1.- When I was searching for for a Z there were hundreds listed on Cars.com, Autotrader, eBay and CarGurus. Over 1/3 were sold or already delivered when I inquired. So the database is not updated regularly. This is the responsibility of the dealership. 2.- Having come from another manufacture and regularly utilizing the search database, they are even more out of date than the .com sites. The vehicles are not automatically deleted when sold. Someone at the dealership must physically delete the unit from stock. Based on the above it is more probably between the 400-700 number realistically. On price, it definitely was way to pricey for the market. But savy shoppers worked the December deal and came out under $55,000 for new Z/28's. All years. That was the steal of the year. That is a fact. On the end of year 20% event? There may be a similar event this year and there will be dealers who held the Z/28's for MSRP and ADM's but the majority will be gone. The lesson, if there is one here is to be patient and keep your eye out for the "inventory liquidation" sales at the end of the year for an outdated, overpriced, kick ass Camaro

If it's creature comforts that makes or breaks it for you, this car was never meant for you. I love this car cause I don't like a bunch of creature comforts, I like simple and I would never buy a vette or gt3. Not saying they are not great cars, but they aren't for me, and that's why this Camaro is only for a small % of car enthusiasts. You have to appreciate what this car has done and is going to do for muscle/sports (and even super) cars in the near future. That the Camaro is being mentioned in the same sentence as the vette, gt3 and numerous other much more expensive cars is awesome.
