All the Camaro and Mustang entries in the CTSCC and PWC would disagree with you.

So would the Spec Mustang SCCA class

And the 2000 Cobra R

Btw, blacked out hoods are a ricer thing too.

This! And the Camaro and Mustang are not muscle cars. Have you looked at that tacked on piece of crap on the z/28? In the world of track performance, function trumps form.

I apologize for my ignorance but I dont follow weekend warrior racing I only dwell on Formula Uno obviously those SCCA guys know more about racing than me, but still looks ricey to me. Cobra does have a rear wing but doesnt take away from the fact its a hideous vehicle with strange proportions. And you are correct blacked out hoods are a ricer thing but I dont understand why you're deflecting this onto my choice of vehicle? You dont need a big fat plastic looking ironing board in the back to get good lap times.

Big wings have always been part of muscle cars. Look at the dodge daytona

Are you sure? Have you run the 6th gen in a wind tunnel with the wing and a lip spoiler to measure the difference?

How can you say there is no need? If the wing adds more down force and increases the performance, shouldn't GM go for it? I don't care for wings but if the wing adds a reasonable amount of performance over a lip spoiler, then I'll learn to like it.

Its an opinion which youre more than entitled to, just understand the wing on the R version isnt a visual add on. Its a performance thing.

Just like I think the 350 wheels are more visually pleasing than the R wheels, i understand there's a performance aspect that shouldn't be overlooked.

Exactly.

Ford has a purely appearance package for the Mustang, it's called the California Special. From what I have seen of the GT350 and the R is that every part of the car is functional. The fender vents are functional, the spoilers and splitter are functional as is the heat extractor on the hood.

Don't get me wrong, I hate ricer crap. But I think one of our mods here posted an acronym for "Ricer" that explained it perfectly.

Race
Inspired
Cosmetic
Enhancement
Replacement

People do ricey crap to Mustangs and Camaros all the time, but I dont think Ford is going to mess up the GT350 name with it.

Now people on the other hand..I do not have as much faith in.
