I haven't used this to do an oil change though. But I do recommend this piece after using it. It's a great $40ish investment!

Ramps have an angle- of- approach- issue with these low vehicles. It can be done, but you'll need to place 2X4s or blocks of some sort in front of the ramps to keep from ripping up your chin spoiler/ splitter.

It looks like I have the same ramps as Chaps and my 2LT doesn't have any problems with the angle. Nothing rubs. NOw with my previous 2012 Accord which I put the sport suspension on which lowered it, did rub a second on the rubber bottom but didn't have issues other than that with the ramp.

I use ramps for oil changes. The amount of oil left behind due to the ramp angle is insignificant. And the drain plug is on the aft edge of the oil pan anyway.

What are good spots? And will a "normal" floor jack get under there, or would a low-profile one be needed?

My LS1 Firebird had the drain plug smack in the center on the side of the oil pan. If that sucker wasn't dead nuts level it would retain nearly a full quart of oil. Must be an LS thing.

I'm still confused what to do because I bought a jack that goes low enough, but it's not deep enough to get very far under the car.
Where do I jack it near cars edge? |

Made these wood ramps for $30 - can park at all the different levels depending on height needed and add extra slab at top if need more clearance. Slope is gradual enough that does not hit front-end when driving up. Cloned design from one I saw on a Mustang forum. Parked on top level for manual transmission fluid change after break-in.

While we're on the subject, I've got a question for you guys about jack stands. I've got a low-profile jack and jack stands, so I can jack the car up by the subframe and get the jack stands under the pinch welds, however in a couple of spots, the jack stands have mangled the pinch welds. Would you guys recommend using a jackpad with the stands? My jack stands have tops like these:
![]() And I'm curious if the pads would actually work with those. Assuming that the bottom of the pinch weld is full seated on the pad, and the base of the pad isn't wider than the head of the stand, it seems like it would work, but I'd appreciate any better/alternative solutions.
