Angry Screwed Up Painting Calipers

So I painted my rear calipers today with VHT brand everything (primer, caliper red, clear coat) so after the 5 red coats I waited 1 hour and then put the sticker on and first clearcoat. That's where I messed up. I think I should've waited more than 1 hour because now there are white spots. Those are not glare. Will these go away overnight? A few hours ago there was a lot more white. Also on the first picture while putting the sticker on it wasn't dried enough so I made it look bad. But the second one only has that little spot. Can I clearcoat it the next day a couple more coats or do they all have to be within the same time period?

Edit: the white was gone overnight

The second one I don't care as much except the first one it has a lot and the sticker is weird. I think for the front I will put clearcoat first then sticker.

When I did my truck calipers (red G2) I had that happen on one of the rear brakes. I put a small fan on low speed on it for a little bit. When it dried it was gone. Hope it works out

I've always heard put the sticker in between coats. I don't have an answer, but I wanted to show you this quoted text I found doing a search about your other set of calipers you're doing with the g2.

I almost went the G2 route but they don't recommend putting any kind of clear on top. They said that eventually even the high temp clear would yellow. That's another reason that pushed me to going with powdercoat. I think they need to be cleared to keep the brake dust out of the edges of the lettering."

The Paint has VOC's. Volital organic compounds. You need to let it outgas for at least an hour between coats and before clear coat. Otherwise you trap those compounds and that create gas bubbles. Thats the problem. Unfortunately I don't have a suggestion for fixing it other than strip and start over.

Yep, won't go away. If you are leaving them on the car I would use a heat lamp to speed curing, otherwise you gotta' wait. Even with a lamp I would wait a good two hours before using clear.

I used VHT on my calipers also. You need to use a heat lamp several hours to cure the paint and clear. I also heated my calipers up by driving hard for a few minutes and then added the stickers on top of the clear, turned out perfect.

Glad I used the G2... VHT one has quite many things to be careful about. Good luck OP!

It's the paint or a layer of clear under the top layer of clear still flashing off the accelerant chemicals. It looks white and most if not all of that should clear up when everything flashes off and cures.

Ok tomorrow I will do G2 in green on the front. How long should I wait before I clearcoat? And I know they don't recommend it but it looks way better. And can I add a couple more layers of clear tomorrow to the ones pictured above? Cause it says on the can to finish the clearcoats within 1 hour.

If you're worried about the color difference between brush and spraying, you might as well just brush, because its just gonna yellow with a clearcoat.

So your doing green in front and leaving the red in rear?

Why would it yellow with a clearcoat? People on here clearcoat their calipers and after a couple years they said it still looks new. I'm using VHT caliper clearcoat not regular
