Yeah, 44whp would have me concerned. I'd scour around to make sure there's no vacuum leaks or anything and how spot on the new tune is. A coworker of mine has a '12 LS3 with a nightfury and there is zero bucking, hesitation, etc. However, he did have a pesky vacuum leak initially that proved to be a real nuisance.

Numbers aren't everything.. Your seat dyno happy. And the car runs great.. I could be happier..
Good luck with That beast

I wouldn't go so far to say that numbers aren't everything. They are something, that's for sure. If the median gain on this particular camshaft is within range of 480+whp with the accompanying stereotypical modifications, I'd take a hard look at the data.

If for whatever reason, you only actually gained 44whp from this camshaft after checking, rechecking but you're happy, I suppose that's fine. However, if I were getting this before and after testing done on the same dyno and that's what I ended up with, best believe I'd be quite concerned.

That's basically the same numbers mine put down with those mods. (But more like 430 tq.)

For the record some shops also stock the NF cam which I think are not really a NF cam in the 1st place. That can also be an issue if you didn't order it from Lethal
What cam specs?

On the same dyno, I went from 375rwhp/396rwtq to 465rwhp/435rwtq

an increase of 90rwhp and 39rwtq

My car is an l99, only things added with the cam were a stall converter and u/d pulley. The baseline was with headers/cats/intake/tune. Both pulls were around the same time of the year/weather too.

No way you lost torque if the tune and cam are correct.

Gained 44 hp overall and 60 hp @6600 rpm (lol useful). I've only driven home with it but so far I think I am going to love it. I can definitely feel the loss of vacuum and loss of torque down low. It's not terrible, but just noteworthy. Up top however, it pulls and pulls and pulls. On the highway I didn't realize I was upwards of about 100mph just trying to get a feel for the shift on the power curve. Am making a long trip today for the holiday so I will get some more time with it. I'll post the before and after curves here and an idle video a little later

hi jeff,

Thank you for the info. As you know Cam Motion sends out the Cam Doctor report with every cam insuring that the cam is correct specs. The TQ does seem to be low as well as the dyno graph in that area. There are lots of variables that may be factoring in. Here is a thread Shawn wrote a while back about tuning on the dyno. This may explain a few things. If you are not satisfied with the results maybe talk to the tuner that dynoed your car. Maybe you guys can figure it out together.

http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=313744

Other than that, a Peak of 60rwhp is definitely a nice gain!

If anyone has a concern about if they are getting the Lethal Racing Cam or not, please contact us. We do have a few shops like ADM, Southwest Speed, Boost Control Performance, etc, that buy the LR cams from us and install/tune them. Again, if there is any concern we will be happy to discuss! All Cam Motion cams/ LR Cams come with the Cam Dr. print out!

thanks for the heads up. yes If anyone has a question please contact us. Even if another shop sells or installs the Nightfury cam, it will be purchased originally from us.

Mine did 400 rwhp / 398 TQ before and 455 rwhp / 417 tq after the NF cam. I have the old comp version i did feel a lil lose in the low end but after 3500 rpm it pulls very hard.

Thanks for the info guys. like I said the car drives great, but when you hear everyone on the internet saying I should have made more hp, then I get a little worried lol.

I wouldn't focus on the peak vs everyone else, or the total hp/tq. I would pay attention to the difference between your baseline, and what numbers you have after the cam. You should have an increase in tq and hp, if everything was done correctly (including tuning and reading the dyno/dyno pulls, etc)

Im not telling you to pull the cam out or anything, just didn't want you to leave power on the table if it was the tune, or if the baseline dyno run or the cam dyno run was somehow misread.
