After some intensive research last night we found the exact model we want. I don't care about interior options but do care for rs package and specific color.

The only thing special about it is that it's the only one available in my area with an auto/rs package at a good price.

The color itself is simple, but dont want anyone to steal it from us.

Why don't you believe that he won the car? My local VFD raffles one off every summer. And not an LS, they raffle an SS. Oh and PA lottery had a scratch off game that you could win your choice of Camaro, Mustang, or Challenger.

Do it. Get the third pedal. Row some gears and enjoy the car. Couldn't wait to get rid of me LS and when I did it, it showed me the potential of the SS platform. And if you got a little extra cash the RS package is nice and 1LE will be a great buy. Trust me I live in Miami I know traffic driving as well as anyone. Don't be afraid to learn it. In a week you'll be moving, in a month you'll be flying, in a few years you'll master it and be glad you did it...don't let the car drive you.

I've seen church festivals give away Camaro SS's, so it's possible. I would say get the manual if you can afford it. I bought a junker cavalier to learn on before I bought my Camaro, but learning stick can be done in an afternoon. It's not that tough and imo it's a helluva lot more fun to drive (I don't care autos are faster these days).

When I auto-cross, other than a first to second shift at the very start of a run, I'm not shifting at all (for 90% of the auto-crosses I've ever run, this is true, and in just about any vehicle). So having faster shifts doesn't play a meaningful role in my course times.

When I attend a track-day, I'm not racing anyone but myself. I'm trying to improve on my own times, so it doesn't really matter which transmission I'm running. Sure, a paddle-box will net me a slightly faster lap time, but that's a hardware improvement, not a driver improvement, so I couldn't care less.

Many disagree with this stance. They do not love a 3-pedal transmission as much as I do. They don't get the enjoyment out of it. That's fine, but I will ALWAYS prefer a true stick shift as opposed to any and every other type of transmission unless I strike it mad rich one day and start racing in a series.

What a member said when arguing to convert a auto because it might be faster.

Nutjob dealers here in Michigan are listing 1SS's with six speed at 38k after cash allowances...the most that can be had seems to be 1,500$. I found one dealer listing 1ss auto with rs package slightly below 38k, not sure if this with cash allowance or not but it appears not. So if that can go down to 36k, I wonder how much trade in value I will get. If 24K(unlikely) then that's still 12k difference.

Nobody is bringing down prices at all. :(

What do you mean by "listing" if you're talking about sticker price, the dealer has no control of that. They may tell you that's $38K after the $1500 rebate. They want you to fight for it so you "feel" better about getting $1500 off. If you can convince your dealer you are ready to pay invoice minus the $1500, he'll make the deal. If not, he knows someone else will. The most important thing when talking to a dealer is for them to understand you are ready to buy right then & there, but that you're also willing to go somewhere else to get the deal you "know" you can get from someone else. Being ready to buy includes knowing that $38K car is going to cost you $38K, +/- 10% and not $30K like you'll hear folks make up.

My 1ss (just bought in June) listed for just under $38K, I ended up getting the car for just over $34K... which included the $1500, so if you talk to them, they'll be able to come off another $2000 or so.

My car is a 1SS, with the RS package. M6, NPP, Short throw shifter, Reverse camera... pretty basic.

Another thing, go to KBB.com & enter your car's data. They'll give you a range of what dealers in your area are giving for your car. They're usually pretty accurate, but you've got to be honest about your car's condition & be pretty adamant when you're talking to the dealer. They'll say all kinds of stuff to get you to second guess yourself.

You can always try to sell it outright, but that takes time & patience & dealing with people. You should take that into account & determine if that's worth the extra three or four grand.

$12K would be about $350/month over 5 years. Pretty good considering what everyone else is paying for the same car.

Thanks thunder, do you think it's a good upgrade? Did you go from v6 to V8? I like the ride feel of the V6, the feel is firm and heavy and so is steering so I really enjoy driving it around. The low end torque isn't so much there , and the responsiveness isn't the best ththough that's likely because I'm breaking it in. I'm sure the V8 has more low end torque? What impresses me is the 130lb torque from V6 to V8 and not so much hp. The V6 is a fun car with enough power for street but I want something even more intense.

I have some things currently going on but will hit the dealer in 1-2 weeks and see what kind of deal is available. That would be nice if I can get it down to 34k, the one I'm looking at is identical to yours. No 2ss package , but has rs package . Difference is its auto.

Nah... I've been a SB fan since I bought my first camaro back in '88. But I am extremely impressed with today's V6. Getting these 4000 lb cars to low 14, high 13 ETs is impressive. Back in the day, the mighty 427 in a Camaro was a low 14 high 13 second car. & it only weighed about 3200 lbs.

But.... it's too late for you. You're already wondering. You won't be happy until you get a V8. Even if you found a way to get 1000 rwhp out of your car, you'll still be wanting that V8.

I would go with a 2SS Manual get you a Commemorative edition while your are at it with NPP. The sound of a manual SS with NPP is simply amazing especially if you pull the fuse. I put my car in it's very first car show this past weekend stock with just the bowties done black and the car was a instant hit with the crowd.

I am having so much fun with this car and I never regret having a manual. I drive mostly in city traffic not a problem for me at all

I just bought a 2015 2SS LS3 Commemorative edition Red Hot with Adrenaline red and black interior, ZL1 Painted spoiler and painted front Splitter with NPP, Upgraded floor mats, free window tint for $36,800 with incentives in Texas

I dunno if prices have dropped but it looks like it to me. I would shop around a little more and take your time until you find the right car with the right stuff for a good price. They are out there. Mine was new as well
