I have held up both lanes of traffic in the past doing a k turn in the middle of the road to avoid fresh tar and chips. I've also been known to play slalom around potholes with fresh cold patch. Damn road crews need to fix shit the right way.

Wait, are there states that DO have heaters to dry paint for new lines? I've never seen such a thing.

Yes,I have a friend that works for Penndot and I told him what happened to the wife's truck and the first thing he said is they must not have had their heaters working.

Maybe they get kick backs from the detailers in the area

Seeing the stupid things that most DOT's end up doing to our cars pisses me off.
Not to mention it's abrasive as hell and wears out tires much quicker than asphalt.

They use that chip and tar crap down here too. They did about a 5 mile stretch on my way to work. I have been driving my beater car and truck since, it's been about 3 weeks now. Glad I didn't have my Camaro the first day I seen it.

OMG. I gotta deal with constant construction due to truck driving. 64, 65 in Ky, In, 71 in Ky. Weve got two bridges going up in Louisville right now. I've ran over a cone BASE left out in the road thanks to Walsh construction in Indiana, and on the same stretch of highway under expansion, had a rock from a dump truck fall off as it was passing me damaging my Camaro. Cost me $371 and $845 respectively. Because of course "Not our fault."

Furthermore, I wish I could sue for emotional distress. Most the time lanes fall to one lane while trucking, I know I'm gonna be late getting home from work. I see those barrels, my morale just sinks. I get it, it needs to be done, but still... Barrels, cones and road signs, controlling us better than any government could.

As a fellow Pennsylvanian, I have to say OP, you had eyes that told you the paint was fresh....why did you drive on it?

Be more conscious of where you drive in the paint looks wet. As for the car paint, time to get out a claybar and ultimate compound for the paint. No clue for the fender liner.

Didn't even take a second glance at the lines. I was just driving to work as usual and around here road construction takes around at least 5 months to complete for some reason haha. Also yeah I know what road chipping is, I've just always heard it called road tarring or asphalting all my life.
