Where the Bilsteins clevis is closer so the strut body is closer to the tire compared to stock like 7mm or so. I had to add more camber adjustment at the knuckle to make wider wheels work.

They are user-adjustable for rebound damping (infinitely variable, no click stops), and it only takes about five minutes with an adjusting tool of some sort*** to swap between really firm track or autocross settings and something significantly milder for street driving.

I'd guess they're good for springs at least up to double the stiffness of whatever the base OE springs are without running out of adjustment. I've heard higher, maybe 375-ish, but with no explanation or hints about how much upward adjustability might remain from a street-ish level of %critical damping.

*** Koni ships a little adjustment knob, but you can buy or even make something that works a whole lot easier.

My avatar car has had Koni yellows on it since at least as far back as mid 2010.

Would Koni yellows be good for a DD or should I go with Koni orange?I've ordered Eibach pro springs and front and rear sways, I've got 87,000 miles on the factory setup, just wondering if it would be wise to get a new set of shocks/struts?

No question - get the yellows. You can dial them back to full-soft or only up a little from there for your DD. Even if all you use the adjustment for is to compensate for eventual wear and gradual loss of damping, that's still better than buying multiple sets of replacement shocks and struts and having to install them.

I have basically three different settings on my car's Koni yellows. One for my solo around-town-and-whatever driving that's about +3/4 turn up front and +1/2 out back, another for my track time that's about 3/4 turn up from there, and a third for when my wife is a passenger and we're going much more than just a few miles that's about 3/8 turn down from my solo DD settings. Resetting all four is about a 5 minute job as long as access to the tops of the shafts where the adjustment is, is readily accessible.

At 87,000, yours aren't anywhere near what they should be even for the OE springs and bars, and at this point they'd be badly overmatched by all the stiffness you're thinking about adding.

The oranges are really intended for stock springs and relatively easy driving - their damping is supposedly about what the yellows have at somewhere around full soft.

At that mileage your shocks are toast buddy.

Ok I was thinking it would probably be best to get a new set since I'm about to add springs and sways, I was eyeing the yellow Koni's on sale at tire rack, I think that's what I'm going to go with, thanks for the input.

I just got off the Phone with Koni. The Original Date for the Yellows to arrive was April 20th, but that is not realistic. They are working on a firm date for me, but it should be before the Koni Sale is over.

I have 35 Sets on Order!

Question, my new wheels and tires will be here by the end of the month, I wanted to try Koni yellows but since nobody knows when they will be available I need another option. I'm going to install a new set of Eibach springs and front and rear sways, I have a 2010 SS, I'm going to do all the suspension work once I get my new wheels and tires, what's the next best damper/shock to get?

If I get these and like them over the Bilsteins, I will be selling the Bilsteins for a really cheap price.
