I'm sure the car looks fine. To me the front end looks just like the 14-15 change..... I doubt the general public will even notice the difference. The only reason my ZL1 gets more attention than my SS is because it just sounds ****ing crazy.

No matter what you think of the style, you have to give GM credit the new SS is fast!

I noticed they got rid of the side gills, that got me kind of sad. I loved the side gills look, not sure what everyone else thought of them?

No doubt the new ZL1 will be amazing. I was thinking of waiting to get the new ZL1, but the fact that I could get a brand new ZL1 for 50k was hard to pass up. I'm sure the new ZL1 will cost at least 65-70k + a mark up.

I have to laugh at this thread. It looks like a Toyota which is asian, it has European styling and lost it's retro look ,but it looks to much like the outgoing model. You guys Crack me up. I'm starting to think instead of coke bottles you guys need this. Lol

When it comes to pure data and stats, conclusions are easy. The 6th gen is a phenomenal platform from any technological standpoint. Chassis, powertrain, suspension, even the price point at which all of that is available is a win in the 6th gen's column.

Is there another car that can generate the sort of performance the SS can, straight out of the show room in the 45-50k price range?

How it looks though, well, beauty, beholder, etc. Personally, my take is that it is evident that there are some stylistic choices that are calculated to appeal to as wide an audience as is possible. There were several articles I've read stating that it is calculated to appeal more to millennials than the 5th gen did.

To those of us that dug the retro vibe on the 5th gen, that's a mis-step. My nephews? They're liking the 6th gen.

Me, I like the looks of the 5th better, would have preferred the 6th try and strike a similar chord to the 2nd, as I like them, and think it would have been historically fitting. I don't think the 6th is ugly, more toned down from the more 'in your face' styling of the 5th. I dislike the side markers and the rear end styling in particular, as do many others.

I originally thought that about the '14 model year change too, yet here I am driving a '15, and pretty much in love with it.

Given that my 5th is approaching six months old, financially, it is far more advisable to continue down the modding my 5th gen route. So, that's what I'll do. I won't rule out a 6th in my future. I don't intend to get rid of my 5th. I bought it having seen early glimpses of the 6th, aware of it's potential performance advantage, and with the intent to mod it to the edge of being streetable on a routine basis, at which point I'd make it a weekend warrior and move on. Who knows what I'll want as a daily driver at that point?

How does the 6th represent any change to that? The path to barely streetable might be shorter? The pinnacle of modification might be a bit further toward some metric? Wasn't going to get that far anyhow. Financially, given the price differential, that could be pretty much a wash. There's the lead time in getting mods into circulation to account for also.

Pretty much the sum total of my thoughts on the 6th are, cool, hope GM sells a bunch of them. They are an insane deal for the dollar amount. I like my 5th better aesthetically, but I like the early seconds and all of the firsts even better, aesthetically. There are a bunch of cars I like the looks of even more. From a performance standpoint, it's all about how my car performs.

Put differently, I'll dance with the girl that brought me. My girl's a little heavier and a bit slower, for now, but wow do I like how she looks. She moves nicely and makes some fantastic noises when I do the right things. What more can I ask for?
Yea but your nephews are probably standing in line for the newest iPhone too.

looks like ours tbh..little more refined . a normal person would see no difference.
That's hooey. You can make a freakin' Ford Pinto be fun to drive with less money than getting a new Camaro.

Its rather obvious that you're one of those people that has to have the latest and greatest no matter if its really better or not.

Haha nope I don't plan on getting a 16 at all, in fact I recently downgraded. I mainly drive a beat up mazda, I don't care what I drive. I like how the 5th gen looks better in some aspects, but the 2016 definitely looks great. Same goes for plenty of other cars. The 300zx looks way better than the 350z, but then the 370z refined that newer body style.

And judging solely from the picture in your signature? The Camaro you have looks like every other Camaro I've seen. And there's 500,000 of them.

And most people look at a Mustang, a Challenger, and a Camaro and think they're all the same car. We've all had someone call our car something it's not, but to a car person this Camaro looks nothing like a Camry... that's for sure. It's a great car, definitely better in every aspect in comparison to the 5th gen. Don't compare a stock 16 to a heavily modified 13 or 15, of course you can make a stock car look better (to you) and the 16s will get modded once they're out everywhere and then we'll start seeing really nice looking ones.

6th gen will definitely turn heads, of course more often at first than 3 years later, but again with the right mods it'll look as good or better than any 5th gen with similar mods

I think they will need to throw in a lifetime supply of chopsticks and maxi pads if they want to meet C5 sales figures.

Guarantee you 500,000 of them don't have an SLP ZL spoiler. I was able to purchase one from SLP's stock on a discontinued package. Previously, the only way to get one was to own an SLP ZL or get one off a ZL.

You stated yourself you have no pride in what you drive. And you're dillusional of the 6th gen is going to be so much of this head turner. Hate to break it to you, but the 6th gen is a Camaro only because that's what the name on the side of it says. Its an SS because the oddly placed emblem states it is.

I can go back through all the generations and find something that says Camaro about it. This one just says, its a car.

You can say that only if you'll admit a ZL1 is actually a Cadillac. It makes no difference

The GTO was technically a Holden, but it was still a badass car.

Having a spoiler doesn't make your car look completely different than every other Camaro... It's just a unique detail. The new 2016s will have unique parts to install as well, not a big deal

Well, since it looks to much like your fifth gen, I can send you some sticks and pads too.

Would t want you to feel left out.

I don't see any overseas influence in this car at all. It's a badass progression of the old model. It looks more C7 Vette than anything else. Both scream America to me. If anything it makes the gen 5 car look very dated and unrefined.

No disrespect intended. After all I have a gen 5 car too. It's just my opinion on the matter which I know means nothing.

I will say though, not as dated as the gen 5 car made the gen 4 car look. But there was a large separation in time too. Hard to compare.

Ok you're right, I'd take a 14-15 long before a 16.

What are you going on about? The new SS is using the corvette engine right, does that make it a corvette?

I would never call my ZL1 a Cadillac, if has 30 more hp that the CTSV. And I don't think the CTSV has magnetic ride control ether, or the bad ass sounding NPP exhaust.
