My local dealer said he didn't want to be married to my car anymore, because it had aftermarket parts, so I took it to another dealer, it's leaking from the back of the engine inside the bell housing, they changed the seal and the back plate gasket, said it didn't look like the block had porosity. I put the car on the road course track for the Camaro fest at NCM and the second day I noticed it was leaking again, I did notice that the engine temp gauge was blocked at the end of the session. So is it that the engine oil is just getting too hot, the block getting too hot and something opening up???? The people that fixed it said to bring it back and they would put some dye in it to see where it's leaking. I want to find the ROOT CAUSE !

It's not that the engine or the oil is too hot. These conditions do not cause your rear main seal to leak.

If you find the right techs, you may get to the root cause.

I got someone looking into this, an L99 with a whipple and a cam, stroked to 416CI didn't get over 265* oil temp thrashing it. My car in 3 hard pulls got over 300* looking into the barbell in the lower gallery near the filter being defective or not installed. Oil may be bypassing the cooler altogether. This would cause the oil to overheat and the block to get hot and something else be opening up or leaking due to the oil getting too hot and thinning, the block may be defective, don't know yet!!!!
