Gosh idk, if I do this though I'm not going to be in a huge hurry. Our track closes from the end of October to I think March or April so I have plenty of time. Won't be anything overnight that's fo sure.

This would definitely make next season interesting!

OK, good luck with the build, keep us posted! My track season doesn't really start for another month or two. I will run a 125shot progressively, but have been thinking about going all out and trying a 150shot, but i do have over 70k HARD miles on it now.

Yeah I only had 37k miles, but honestly I beat on her pretty hard. Time to do things right though and really go fast. I need to launch hard. I mean I'm trapping 120, imagine what my e.t. would be with a 1.7-1.8 60ft. And that's at my power level now, after this I could def bump up the power.

Good luck getting to the 11's! I'm shooting for next year now.

So darned sorry to hear about your failure but sounds like you are optimistic about the whole deal. I think water/meth injection might have saved this from happening. I would definitely install a system and converter while you have this engine rebuilt. Ya know, unless one has money to burn, you need to always have built in safety margins when increasing HP on any project. For example, on my twin turbo LLT, when I factor in the high static compression ratio, I limit myself to 10 or even maybe 12 PSI boost levels and find other ways to decrease ET's, such as rear gearing, high stall converters, water/meth injection and even a 50HP NOS shot. (used ONLY for launch, and at 4 to 5 PSI, it shuts down and turbos continue making all the HP) My LLT has all the above and is a beast. (And with a little margin of safety) Always have to know when to stop. There is always a limit and only a few short years ago, no one would ever have thought you could even get this much HP from these high compression, little engines. Still "WOW's" me every time I put the pedal to the metal!! And by the way, you have a very impressive build. I've done FI builds all my life and yours is one of the good ones. Gretchen's old build still remains KING!

Your right about knowing when to stop. Fabberge told me to keep it under 12psi. I knew I was pushing the limits of what this motor could do with such high compression. I wanted that 11 sec time slip and my ego made me turn it up lol. Its my own fault so I can't be mad at anybody but myself.

As far as meth/water injection goes I'll have to look into it more. As of now I really don't want to run it. I would rather have lower compression and run more boost without it. I think the fuel delivery will be there with the new hpfp and zl1 pump. Grethchen made some big power with no suplumental fuel after he went to the lf3 hpfp. And yes Gretchen is still KING lol but we're gunnin for his crown!

Man, so bummed to see this happen. Glad to see you have a plan and the means to make it happen. Loved watching your build with the twin turbo's and the progression at the track. Looking forward to seeing what the future holds!!

Remember, you'll have to change out the lash cap on the LF3 pump.

Hope you take the crown, it would be nice to see continued advances for the LLTs and LFXs.

I really don't need insane power maybe 550-600whp and at least that in wtq. Just want it to be safe and reliable. The torque converter and SS rear swap and drag radials is what will bring it all together. 125-130mph trap speed with a 1.7-1.8 60ft... That would make for a pretty impressive 1/4 mile e.t. I think.
