You don't want 0 ohms. With these ignition systems they need the proper resistance to operate optimaly. Only the OEM wires are right resistance.

This is all very interesting. I am comparing ohms like I would a speaker system. You have a speaker system rated at 8 ohms/speaker at 100 watts. Instead of 8 ohm speakers, you decide to use 4 ohm and you have more power to play with. I would think you would get more power to the plug with less resistance in the same manner and produce a bigger spark. I am interested in the physics behind this. Does the extra spark energy, if any, mess with timing or do you need a wider gap? Just curious.

If you want other than OEM, only other wire worth it IMO is the firecore 50. The zero ohm stuff is all BS.

I found this very interesting video dyno pull back to back on a Camaro. Seems legit and if so, it is a better HP gain per dollar than a CAI:

Why is it not legit? Has Snopes proven it to be an urban legend like sharks swimming down the street? Granatelli made it.

christianchevell, you run them, what are your thoughts? Any difference? For 172 space bucks, its a rather cheap gamble.

A set of wires for 172 is not cheap at all.

Go OEM and get the socks, if you are worried about looks, get the red socks.

OK, $172 is not cheap, but relatively speaking if you compared it to long tube headers, exhaust upgrades, CAI, it is not bad at all if it works as claimed. I spent this much or more on my under drive pulley with little benefit.

If anybody on this site knows, Nick does. This is a place where people discuss their mods and power. I have yet to come across any thread with someone bragging on these wires. In fact, the same thing comes up over and over when you search plug wires for the gen5. The general consensus is OEM wires. Snopes does not need to get involved. Are you aware that over the last 50 or so years, people have occasionally advertised things and made claims that are either exaggerated, or simply not true about their product? I dont know many people other than the manufacturer who are willing to lay down cash for back to back dyno runs to measure their actual HP gains from plug wires.
