You can ignore the Snopes post - it was a silly ref to the current fake photo of a shark swimming down the street in SC due to the weather - I live near ATL. Anyways, I have seen the other posts, and the excellent rebuttal from Janetty which states it is likely only a 5 hp increase. Granatelli claims an average of 5 HP for N/A and 12-15 for FI, so this is in line. I will be installing a supercharger in early spring, and if I happen to gain an extra 12 to 15, then great. Otherwise, I will have a good quality set of new plug wires worst case scenario. They are only $129 on Phasetek, so its even less risk!

MSD or OEM.. I run MSD because i kept burning stock wires. I will NEVER run Taylors again JUNK quality wires i had them on 3 different cars and i have enough wires to barely complete one set left. the rest failed, fell apart, shorted out etc.

The reason Im a Taylor fan is I worked for a speed shop back in the day that sold more Taylor wires than anyone. Ive sold and ran quite a few sets.

Put MSD wires on, gained some, but honestly couldn't care less. I like the look and clearance on the headers more than anything.

I have tested several sets of Spark Plug wires on the dyno to see if i could back up claims and the verdict was no improvement. I Recommend the JBA Spark Plug Wires for the price and Durability if you are looking at replacing your wires. I do not recommend the MSD. They do not fit the factory shields well and they are prone to break if you have to take them back off after running them for a while. My .02

But I need yellow! I don't want red. Everyone knows that yellow is good for at least two more horsepowers... Do you have yellow?

You know I think I have seen the Yellow Wires pick up at least 1.9 HP over stock. For some reason I am Hungry for Tacos now.

Less resistance + more power now the car may want to think it needs more resistance, sure I say whatever...... Build a better mouse trap and someone will claim it wont work or the old ones are better, etc.... I bought them f better heat resistance, Have not had my final dyno tune yet, and would be interested to do a compare stock versus aftermarket wires and doubt much difference, but hey add some nice coils eventually say some sultans of spark or what ever and there are lots o dynos proving more spark= better flame over more complete combustion and better power.

SO just because Granatelli which is a real good company says they get more power and no one bothers to test it does not mean its not true or not worth it. And there are dynos showing their difference on engines with better coils etc ... I am not going to dig them up, its like why I have my favorite, does it make a difference, lets see I run a 11:1 428 with ported heads, headers, VMAX, UDP, customs remapped tune by the best semi local dyno tuner/LS guru ,( I do not want to annoy him to see if they make a noticeable power difference in the end as its money I already spent both on the install and tune and the wires).... Now If I were rich..lol sure make another dyno run after switching out the wires....lol My Granatellis fit the factory shields and one even was on the headers for a COUPLE HUNDRED MILES until I moved it and only a little scorch mark as my stupid coil covers made it sit on them until I spun the wire...( I will be getting some nice American car craft covers some day).

I know the eternal debate that has gone on here about plug wires, and well we are not the richest to go and test everything, and the manufacturers... well they are what they are, so speed shops testing various wires/coils would be nice but finding them... and then sharing them.... Could change to make a more popular consensus than The stockers are fine, ( I mean after all we have individual coils compared to my old SBC days making 406's and adding MSD HEI's with customized this and that), and the stock coils do provide a lot of power, but hey this is hot rodding and there is always going to be someone selling snake oil and someone selling something that is really better. The hard part is figuring our for yourself which is which, and well there were some customers claiming improved performance with the granatelli wires, and yes the name has been around quite a while........

If wires could instantly add that, all the OEMs would use them.

Grantelli is not a good name and has been known all over to scam people. Search around.

You buy wires for fit and reliability. I've ran Taylor, MSD, OEM and Autozone. If I had to rank them it would be
OEM, Autozone, Taylor, MSD. The MSD are fragile and dont fit well. Taylors a ok but no better than any others. Autozone are great because they fit well, worked, and if/when you break them just go warranty them out cause it is a lifetime warranty.
