the SS brakes are the best bang for the buck I think. But I'm thinking hard about putting 6 pot caddy calipers and 14.5" rotors on the front of my camaro v6. That should make a huge difference. And put the SS components on the rear axle, 14.4" rotor.

the drawback on the caddy stuff is that the front rotors and pads are big money for decent quality stuff.

not too bad, i found the caddy (brembo) 6 pot calipers new for $770 a pair, and rotors new for $120 each.
The calipers come with the pads and pins, yellow. This is all new versus second hand SS stuff. They even have 6 pot caddy fronts, 4 pot caddy rears, pins and pads for 1350. Then to buy the 4 rotors and brake lines. That would be around 2000 total for Zl1 equivalent brake system performance. Thats a deal, from chevy the same is $4000+. I'm waiting for a forum vendor to get back with me on what he can offer before I do anything. There is a forum member here who did the complete caddy - brembo swap, has a thread with part #s and pics. (Dropspeed, advanced search) Last edited by polizzio; 12-20-2015 at 10:43 AM. |

After you upgraded to the SS system on ur V6, how would you compare the brake feel and performance? Day to day regular driving, could you readily tell the difference?

It wasn't a huge difference, but I went from stock v6 pads to ceramics on the Brembos. Also I'm not a good person to ask. I'm terrible at feeling differences after I make changes to the car.

Thanks for the information. I didn't know that. I don't have anyone in my family or any friends who know stuff about cars.... After it overheated that one time it went into limp mode and I let it cool off. I have not taken it back to the track since then, and I really haven't driven it hard either. Hopefully there is no lasting damage.
