the SS brakes are the best bang for the buck I think. But I'm thinking hard about putting 6 pot caddy calipers and 14.5" rotors on the front of my camaro v6. That should make a huge difference. And put the SS components on the rear axle, 14.4" rotor.

the drawback on the caddy stuff is that the front rotors and pads are big money for decent quality stuff.

not too bad, i found the caddy (brembo) 6 pot calipers new for $770 a pair, and rotors new for $120 each.
The calipers come with the pads and pins, yellow. This is all new versus second hand SS stuff.

They even have 6 pot caddy fronts, 4 pot caddy rears, pins and pads for 1350. Then to buy the 4 rotors and brake lines. That would be around 2000 total for Zl1 equivalent brake system performance. Thats a deal, from chevy the same is $4000+.

I'm waiting for a forum vendor to get back with me on what he can offer before I do anything.

There is a forum member here who did the complete caddy - brembo swap, has a thread with part #s and pics. (Dropspeed, advanced search)

there are many under $300 options that include pads and hardware.

these 4 Piston calipers are designed for the V6 smaller rotors and bolt up without major modification. I only had to trim my dust shield, and reuse the identical mounting hardware from the 1 Piston caliper.
Good find! I think these are a good option for people who don't need the SS brembos, but don't like the way the V6 calipers look. They're hideous.

Only drawback is my donut spare- if I have a flat on the front I have to move a rear wheel to the front and use spare on the back to get home. No huge deal. I don't like to run without a spare since there's no cell service in many places I go.
Also carry a plug kit and fix-a-flat too.
My 18" wheels with snow tires now won't fit at all, so gotta sell those off and just had some 19" snows for some 2LT wheels ordered since those 19's fit over Brembos.
Be careful with the fix-a-flat stuff because I hear they like to **** up the TPMS

If your just worried about looks, I'm sure you could buy some stick on anodized covers for the v6 calipers

I don't like the way those look either lol. When I had my V6 I went ahead and did the SS brembos, might've done these had I known.

I'd gladly prefer to replace a TPMS sensor than walk home.

Haha I guess our priorities are different. Easier for me to walk home though.

After you upgraded to the SS system on ur V6, how would you compare the brake feel and performance? Day to day regular driving, could you readily tell the difference?

It wasn't a huge difference, but I went from stock v6 pads to ceramics on the Brembos. Also I'm not a good person to ask. I'm terrible at feeling differences after I make changes to the car.

Thanks for the information. I didn't know that. I don't have anyone in my family or any friends who know stuff about cars.... After it overheated that one time it went into limp mode and I let it cool off. I have not taken it back to the track since then, and I really haven't driven it hard either. Hopefully there is no lasting damage.

Take it to the Chevy dealership and have the fluid flushed/trans filter replaced as soon as possible. The couple hundred dollars you spend on this service is well worth it.
