Never tuned it the people at CAI said that it would not need it. Hope that was true. Besides I don't know anything about tuning a car.

You will not be able to see if it's dirty just spray some mass air sensor cleaner inside the tube on the sensor and let it dry. Sometime an over oiled filter will coat the tip of the sensor and cause it to not read properly. Make sure there is no blockage where the air comes in to the box. These cars only seem to get enough air when moving my 1le is cammed and tuned and pulls timing due to not enough air in traffic or at a light in traffic.

Also you only should clean the filter every 6-9 months if necessary. Most filters recommend 25,000 or more miles and you only clean with soap and water let dry and oil the outside of the filter. Never oil the inside of the filter due to the oil getting on the mass air sensor.

If you clean your MAF, do it with the VEHICLE OFF. The MAF is a super-heated element that can be damaged by spraying cleaner on it while it's active.

I am with BAFX Products Support.
Our scan tool is only an OBDII scan tool meaning that it is only able to read the OBDII system which does NOT include the ABS, SRS, Stability or Regular Maintenance lights. Generally for systems other than the OBDII system one must purchase a more specialized and manufacturer specific tool for such systems.

I use Torque Pro (~$5) and I love it tons of plugins and customization for custom parameters and gauges and code reading. They have a free version as well, but Pro was basically free because I use Google Opinion Rewards and get paid a little bit for random surveys here and there.

Thanks that info will help a lot When I should have said when I cleaned the filter that all I do is inspect and blow it out if necessary. I will getting that spray today. One question though do I remove the MAP from the intake tube to clean it or do I spray inside the tube. with the engine off and cooled as Ghosted said

You don't have to remove just spray and let dry before running. It will dry really fast.

Also there's a difference in the MAF (mass air flow) sensor and the MAP (Manifold Air Pressure) sensor.
