I put a new Interstate battery for my SS last year. $200.00 with tax installed. Not so much
considering 6 years use and it's an excellent battery. How much do you want to spend?

My car was built on 8/4/09 and I replaced the battery last year. It still was
fine but I figured it was on borrowed time. My new Interstate battery is a
MTP 94 R H7. My mechanic said its a direct bolt in vented battery that fits many
GM vehicles and he had it in stock. Cost was $185.99 + $2.99 EPA tax + $12.00
Ct state tax = $200.98 installed. I don't know the cranking amps but I'm sure
you can look it up on the Interstates web site.

When I shopped for batteries last summer, $200 was the prevailing price. You might get lucky and find one for $180. I got a Duralast battery from Autozone. When did batteries become so expensive? Fifteen years ago you could buy a good one for $60.

I run a Braille 15lb (Part # B2015), spent a total of $210 for it off amazon. Had to fab a custom mount (or you could buy Braille's mount kit)... it's not good for anything under 32 degrees (freezing). After 2 years I've only ever had it not start once (was 24 degrees), once it warmed up started no problem.

sealed, will last long past what a vented battery will, and its 35-40lb lighter than stock.

The Interstate MTP 94R H7 ( its named Megatron) is a good option, leave it to a Decepticon to have starting duty - lol. I got one for $178 out the door. Its a big battery but has the CCA you'll need. go for it!

I'm also looking into a battery this year, may go with the optima performance. Give it a shot.

Let me know what battery and where you get it at. The one in my SS is getting weak as well!

why would someone go cheap on a battery.... never understood why people spend 30 to 40 thousand dollars on a car and treat it like its your baby and then look for a cheap battery.....

If you don't mind saying what did your dealer charge for the battery?

I don't understand why people put a sealed battery in the camaro. The battery is in the trunk where it should be a vented battery for heat reasons. It even says in the car manual to put a vented battery in to replace the original. That is why it has a breather tube vented out the bottom of the car.

It has nothing to do with heat.
