OP made an apples to oranges comparison. For proper perspective, comparison should be with '98 V6 Mustang. You don't buy a V6 with expectations of out performing a V8 in most cases, especially a V8 that is considerably lighter and has more torque...JMHO

No they are for blind loyalty and people who ONLY love Camaros. Geez don't you read the posts here?

Sorry for the responses you have received. I would apologize for some of these people but it's not worth associating myself to them. Short of the 300c the Camaro won't feel 'light' nor 'nimble' compared to the cars you listed... I would definately suggest looking elsewhere... the new Camaro definately wasn't aimed at someone who wanted that kind of car. Good luck in your search!

FWIW the 2011 Mustang GT might be right up your alley. Looks like it will stay fairly light, we know the handling is exceptional with the track pack and the revised powerplants look very promising. Just a thought.

I personally don't know why someone would expect a Camaro to be like a mustang anyway. You either want a Quality car, or a Ford!
Loyalty goes out the window when GM allows dealers to sell over msrp. I know they can't require this by law, but there are other ways to enforce pricing. As far as quality goes, each manufacturer has it's strong points and weak points. To judge simply because of brand is absolutely silly.

Don't worry about it. You got buyers remorse and it happens to a lot of people. I remember buying a car brand new and then once it was mine I regretted the purchase. Just try to get a good price for yours and continue your search.

Don't mind the flaming at all. I think some people feel like this new Camaro is the end all of cars. It's just not for everyone and you happen to be one of those people. Hope you find what you want.

Well I don't think you can just return it like a pair of pants, I believe you'll need to sell it or trade it in. Be prepared to take a hit on what it's worth.
since when can you just return a car

Good luck

WOW!
I can not believe the performance I get out of my V6. I bought it for the looks and mpg and it runs great.

The dealer is trying to persuade me with one of the SS they just got in, but they want $43k for it. For that money, I can get into a nicer car. What happened to the bang for the buck the Camaro used to be? Also not happy with the performance times I got. 6.1 0-60 and 14.9 for the quarter. Those were the times I could get in my 98 Mustang GT with 75 less HP. Maybe I am just expecting too much from the entry level version. We'll see.

wait.. you are upset that the v6 in a 3900lb car can do 6.1... which were the same times from your v8 mustang with 3300lbs (prob less)

I guess. id say try driving the v8s before you totally pass on the camaro. and if your dealer is offering over MSRP, find one that is offering at MSRP. we've got a few on this site that will drop ship.

i'll take it! i'll give it the mods it needs to exceed my expectations. I can understand why you'd be disappointed because you just purchased a brand new car that you wanted more out of. just appreciate that you have it, i'd KILL for it right now....

trade it for a manual SS xD

Getting pretty tired of people who have never even set foot inside the new Camaro spouting off and being rude. If you own one, I welcome your advice and thoughts. If you dont, please just shut your trap because you dont know how a car drives from looking at pics in magazines

He definitely dropped the ball on this one. If performance was the deciding factor, the V6 should not have been looked at. I have a 2LT/RS and as a daily driver I love it. When I feel the need for performance, the Vette comes out. I am lucky to have the best of both worlds.
