Only real options I've seen are RPM or custom. RPM makes a nice bar but I'm using PMR (Phil Mandella Racing) in Rancho Cucamonga when the time comes. Their setup for a chromoly bar was cheaper than RPM's setup and they can custom fit it to your needs (to a certain degree) and keep it legal.

If your able to, go by and check their shop out.

I just pulled the trigger on the parts. Squash Dual Fuel pump, flex fuel sensor and ID850's (recommended by Mike @ CMS, he said they'd be more than enough). Once the parts come in, i'll set up the apt and get them all installed & tuned. hopefully this will all be done in the next 4-6 weeks. They mentioned i can drop a pulley size with this set up to increase boost at the same time. i'm going to double check on that today before i buy the smaller s/c'r pulley.

You'll love the potential on this setup.

If you went into the back of the shop my car was the IOM on the back row with the hood up. Motor is out and at the machine shop now getting cleaned up and balanced.

What SC are you running? I may have a pulley if you are going smaller, I'm dropping to a 3.2" on the new motor so I'll be getting rid of the 3.5" that's on the Maggie now.

I haven't been to the shop yet, i took your advice on waiting until they got settled from the move to call back ha.

I'm running the edelbrock s/c'r. currently have 3.5" pulley (about 7lbs of boost) and considering going to 3.25" pulley.

Yeah, when the time comes (when i get kicked off at Fontana) i'll have to look into one. only bad thing is i use the back seats all the time (90% of the time it's driven) for my kids and they're still in car seats, so i'm not really sure how this is going to pan out. Of all the cages I've ever seen there is no way i could see getting a car seat in & out.

Before going with a E85 set-up, research a water/methanol injection kit. YouTube has tons of info about it. Just saying -

i was looking at water/meth kits about 2 years ago and decided against it. dont want to keep up with ensuring it's full and i have no room in the trunk after strollers get put in there and windshield washer bottle idea i'm not too fond of. plus i have kids in the car often and just don't trust it (myself with it) enough.

e85 seems to be at 50% of the pumps around here, plus i'm already invested.

Both works great. Meth+flex fuel.

Given choice of only one, I would do flex fuel over meth, but no reason not to do both.

If you haven't got one by the time I get mine out in I'll send you pics. One of the reasons I liked PMR is they will follow the roofline and put the rear supports through the rear deck lid instead of next to the seat like RPM so there is little to no chance of someone hitting their head on the bar while they are sitting back there.

I've seen a couple that have been made with a removable cross bar (not PRM's) so it makes it easier for kids to get in and out when not on the track, but you have to keep the disconnects covered because they are not NHRA legal.

Sounds good. It's likely you'll beat me to it. I like the idea of it being removable, but not sure if i could gamble a few thousands bucks on them discovering the releases (unless a padding can go over them?)

imo, 11.49 doesn't seem 'fast enough' to need a roll cage/bar. seems with today's tech that they could push that time down for newer modified cars.

Maybe i'll take my chances and make up some registration papers that say its a 2017 ZL1 and it's all stock haha

The removable section has the connectors covered with a pad while he center is installed.

The only thing I'm not a fan of is the bars stick out from the hoop about 6" when the center is removed. To me that's a little more dangerous than the bar being in place because most kids lack coordination and I know I would whack my head on the connector. lol

Fontana is tight on the 11.49 limit where other tracks actually let you go to 10.00 like the rulebook states as long as you are not cutting up the firewall.

I'm fully expecting to be really close to 9's once I get the car back so it's going to be a must for me.

9's will be awesome fast. they wont let you there during street legal events, but probably test and tune days right?

to me, 11's seems respectable. 12's seem dime a dozen. I would have been ok if i squeezed 11.9 out of my current set up, but nooo... DA wouldn't permit.

You're right, kinda like the door swings they have on some have that piece stick out... a piece sticking out could be covered with some padding also, but still risk hitting at the wrong angle. at least in a car seat they won't come close, they're all 5 pt harnessed in and permanent lock position.

I was toasted by a CTS-V that ran 11.2 with no cage and he didn't get kicked off, i was asking around to see if anyone knew if they were a little laxed or not but no one could give me an answer, with everything else they're strict so you're probably right them being tightwads on that 11.49.

How long can E85 sit in the tank on a single fill up (safely) as a rule of thumb? i'm aware its corrosive, but does that impact it sitting in the tank and lines for a period of time?

E85?

Longest I've left e85 (83% ethanol) sit in my tank and lines is four months, no problem at all.
