Guys I got a solution for a front plate that I saw the other day on a Dodge Magnum HEMI: sticker. Yes that's right, it had a sticker front plate. And it worked. So I'm pretty sure it could work on the Camaro.

Plate suggestion...
Quote:
I was thinking about the plate and I thought that the plate on the Camaro is not necessarily bolted on the bumper... What if there was some sort of bracket that extended out and through the lower grill that was made to go flush with the middle part of the grill. This way no one would ever have to mangle/drill any hole in the bumper. I think this would be an easy way to get around destroying the bumper in anyway. The bolts will be behind the bumper so there is no exterior changes. Hopefully thats what will end up happening, since I live in Texas I don't want any holes anywhere. Does anyone understand what I'm saying?

If you could make some of those, I am sure a lot of people would buy them,,,, I still WANT to mount the front plate where it should be: on the wall of my garage!!!

Yeah, those front plates would look a lot better in the garage than on the front of the Camaro! I guess we'll see... so far so good though. |

It is obvious to me that my definition of "enthusiast" differs from everyone elses. Obviously, there can only be one true definition of the term and I'll admit that mine is incorrect. So with that I kinda shot myself with my own post. My point was that GM wouldn't focus on any particular type or group of person. Their ultimate goal is to make money, not please the enthusiasts...even though that can be argued to go hand in hand. Take it with a grain of salt. Quote:

I, too, wish we were all getting the concept, but a one-off, multimillion dollar concept is always hard to translate into a cost-effective, regulation-compliant, production vehicle. I think the team at Chevrolet has been very slavish to the concept, and we've had more input into the production of a car than anyone has probably ever had in automotive history. There's so much more to come that we haven't seen, both as factory options and aftermarket solutions, that I really don't mind that the headlights aren't exactly the same, or how the grill is executed. It all will even out in the end.

Many of these fickle complaints can EASILY be combated with aftermarket touches or even accessories possibly offered through GM. Oh well...I love this vehicle, and I appreciate the commitment you have put in to it and the fact that YOU DO respond and listen to the enthusiasts... |

That's certainly better looking than keeping the plate on the front. I'd get them if the dealer had drilled holes in my front bumper. I'll still tell them to leave it off when I purchase it though. |

I'm 100% sure that at least one well known print magazine is planning on publishing a negative review of the changes to the front end styling already.

Why do I keep hearing this common theme that everyone must accept that there's foibles with the car and we just have to live with them because we can fix it later at our own cost? GM's job is to make a car that people will buy. We're all already fans of the camaro and we're already used to modding our own cars and personalizing them. On the other hand, John Q. Public and Jane Q. Public may be quite used to other brands that build cars they don't need to modify to get the way the want them. How are you going to get them to buy a car they don't like certain aspects of even if there are aftermarket options to fix it? That's a tough sell, if you ask me.
