Glass Replacement

The front glass on the 1LE now has a crack from the passenger side all the way over to the driver side just under the HUD. Needless to say each day I see this I think "cheap ride" argh... Anyway taking it to Safelite for repair has been tough...

Appointment 1...
Me...Show up hello...
Tech...drives car into bay...
Technician... You're car has auto start and the box next to the mirror is not on the NON-OEM glass.
Me... I don't have auto start ... I request OEM glass
Appointment 2...
Me.. So its $100. for the OEM glass with my insurance yes?
Technician... Let me check the carrier... sorry...need to email them they are not open on Saturday.. sorry
Me.. Drive away...
Appointment 3...
Me... Can I see the OEM glass before install
Technician.. Sure let me get the glass down...
15 minutes later... Sorry we cant install the glass because of inclusions on both sides of the glass. We will need to order another OEM for you.
Me... Really happy... although another appointment...
Appointment 4...
Not yet hope to god it will get done...

Safelite was next to Goodyear great time to look up cost of new tires.
Me... I would like Goodyear F1's
Tech... for a Corvettte
Me... Camaro...
Tech... hummmm...
Me... 1LE....
Tech... don't see that
Me... ZL1...
Tech 285 front and 305 rear
Me.. 285 front and back
Tech you know these are async tires basically race tires
Me... yea the car is meant for track time
INSIDE... I was like HELL YEA!!!
Any tire that states supercar on the sidewall has to be great. ha ha.

When my glass got cracked. Safelite originally appointed an amateur to work on my car. Then a tech who had like 12 years experience heard, current Camaro and was like no I'll take that thank you. He showed up and told me that happened and he also hooked me up with an OEM Pinkerton windshield instead of the aftermarket crap. He was really cool and liked the sound of the cam as well. Hope you get so lucky as well.

Same here, this glass is awesome and light. It will be going in my car when it's time for a new one. Track has been chewing mine up so it wont be much longer.
