That Vitesse thing increases the amount of throttle opening vs at least the initial pedal movement, speeding up throttle response (giving you more torque with less pedal movement). There is some adjustment, in discrete steps.


I think your VIR moment was due to a combination of things . . . tires, some power, some cornering, and at least three things curbing-related. Paint (slippery when wet, with apologies to bon jovi), it's still a bump and your tire will briefly at least partially unload on the back side, and it's on the dry line when you should be following a somewhat different path.

No, you don't get much warning, even when a curbing is not involved. Enough time to think "oops" but not enough time to say it. Those whose driving does NOT include enough snow driving to "stay current" with a sudden loss of cornering grip are probably at a disadvantage vs those who do.


On my 4th track day ever . . . about a minute in is when (a little too much) throttle + (still a little) cornering + standing water > rear grip



But other than it being a "memo to self about throttle application coming out of T7" moment, it was really no big deal.

Just had one of my scariest and shortest track days. 31-34 degrees F! FOG !!!! Needless to say, I could not do much on the time, but it was fun : )
