I bought 2 kits, one for my black SS and one for my wife's car. The color match is great but after I fill the scratch/gouge and try to wipe off the excess all of the color comes off including the color that is supposed to fill the scratch/gouge. What is the secret to not remove all of the color filler?

I recently had the front end re done with clear bra over the entire front end, including the hood and fenders. They also did both gills, and these guys knew what they were doing. They did something to get rid of all the bumps (probably 1600 grit sandpaper) and put new clear bra over it. Looks brand new.

Make sure you're giving the paint enough time to dry, I'd say if it's giving you problems like that wait about 5 minutes, and don't rush when you're wiping the solvent on there, let the solvent do the work, some chips I didn't put any pressure when wiping the paint off, I just slid the corner of the paper towl over it, it takes longer but it won't pull the paint out.

Worked for my as well. Pain in the butt to work with sometimes. I have to fill in the rock chips in my grill, hood, and front end area still. Filled in a large chip on my roof...took forever...but then again this kit isn't designed for large chips.

there is a white base paint that they provide for lighter colors which allows the color coat to be less transparent. It came with my slingshot yellow SSR kit. I use it on deep chips.
I agree with most that you should let it dry a little longer to prevent the solvent from taking everything off. It sure looks better than the old paint brush.

Don't have the problem in the 'gills' area, but have a few chips on the front bumper area that need attention ... thanks for posting, going to try this to fix them

Great product. Been using for years. Highly recommend!
Careful when polishing the touched up areas by machine. I pulled some of the paint back out of the chips a few months later.

I have wondered how this would work in the gills, and it looks like it works great. You did a good job and thanks for letting us know. If a guy is going to do both gill areas (right and left), can he just buy one kit, or will he need two?

One kit will do lots of touch ups. The bottle is about 4X the size of a normal duplicolor brush touch up bottle. It would be nice to get some extra paper towels for the solvent. The microfiber towels are available every where.
