Now we are talking. Will I may need to sell an extremely low mileage Vmax. Any suggestions or need for one? Or even better yet I am willing to pay for the dyno runs if you would like me to match the Vmax against your 80mm? kinda like a sponsorship haha

Another question. Will I need a revision to my current tune from you?

I can only offer a butt dyno. Which is very accurate!

I'll be ready to buy when it comes with the larger tubing and see some numbers! Gonna come ported, too? And wtf are we going to do with these old ported throttle bodies hahahaha

Got an email this morning from a customer with an LFX equipped Impala. He made the switch from a VMAX throttle body to an Overkill 80mm throttle body. He has a K&N intake, JacFab spacer, underdrive pulley, Magnaflow cat-back, and a tune from Trifecta (but perhaps I can convince him to switch to Overkill).

Max gain was 11 wheel horsepower at 5700rpm. Gains started at 4000rpm around 5-6 horsepower and climbed from there as rpms increased.

This is just one dyno result, we'll need more upcoming results to create a trend of what you can realistically expect to gain, but obviously very happy to get this feedback.
11whp just from the vmax to the 80mm plus all his other mods? I wonder what he's making overall?

anyone have a forsure way to connect the throttle body to a k&n? i'm assuming most of the v6 intakes are about the same size but i'm not too sure about all the piping angles. seems like a 90 degree transition coupler might work but want to be 100% sure before i get one, as do all of us

I've had this for awhile(month) now. Works perfect, no dyno. 3.5"(80mm tb) to 3.25"(K&N)

So if it's 11 whp from the vmax, then what is it from a stock tb?

I would have to say the ported intake is also key to work well with 80mm tb or any improved tb for that matter. The stock intake is pretty restrictive.

You can use 80mm on stock intake. But once you actually see how restrictive GM makes this intake, you will want the ported/matched intake. I also did intake extender with all of it at once including ipf tune. It really kicks up the lfx. I'm interested to hear how the e85 and overkill tune works. I think Will and Jason are a great resource for us lfx guys. I don't foresee me ever doing the e85 but maybe going from ipf to overkill tune. But either way the few engine items work well for me. It really wants a pro charger now. If they'd get one for the lfx someday.

Jason told me that you need to state that you have the 80 mm so he can port the tb part as well.
