i just don't get people coming on here bashing the 6thgen. for long time Camaro people there was a nightmare that the car was out of production for 7 years. now we have cars that are worldclass and here come people nitpicking and a lot of them have no experience with the older generations to begin with. It's not 6thgen owners bashing 5thgens. It's 5thgen owners "wow i sure don't like that 6thgen." A year after it was shown off . Some of them have 3 posts, and a whole lot of them are "hey guys i'm 16 and i'm a Camaro expert and next week i'm going to drive one for the first time!"

I personally like what GM did with the 6th generation (except the stupid badge on the bumper), it's simply not what I was seeking.
I had Challengers for 5 years, but always wanted a convertible. When the 6th generation Camaro was introduced, I snapped up a 5th generation, which I preferred.

Thank goodness Chevy improved on the 5th gen. Great car for its time

Could you elaborate on 6th gen parking lights? You mean the side markers? They shut out aftermarket add-ons?
Hi, yes, what I was referring to was fender flares (old school) or running trim along the fenders (still old school). I like the idea of being able to modify my car...regardless of whether or not I actually do it.

As for key vs push button start, I prefer keys because they are safer. Turn the car off, take the key, and little fingers can't start the car. However, push buttons activate if the fob is within range...bad ju ju.

Actually, the two features my Challenger had, that I wish my 5th generation Camaro had, were push-button start & automatic climate control.

Not only that key less cars are very very easy to hijack the rfid and steal. BMW has had major issues with this. I laugh when people say it is not possible .

After looking at the 6th gen (at a boat show of all places), I ran directly to my local dealer and snagged one of the last 15's. Got a whopping $9K off and took her home.
Oh yeah...forgot to mention...she's a V6er. It was the right choice five years ago and it's the right choice today.

I see people are comparing the 6th gen to the legroom in the 3rd gen or 4th gen F-body. The difference between those cars and the 6th gen is that the fuel tank was located above the rear axle, not the bottom of the rear seat.

So, even though the wheelbase was nearly a foot shorter at 101", you had more room in the back seat compared to the 6th gen because you sat lower in the floorpan. The 6th gen is almost 2" shorter in wheelbase than the 5th gen, but that 2" comes directly off the rear seat legroom. Also, it may be just me, but I think the rear seat sits just a tad higher in the body (perhaps for more fuel tank clearance) compared to the 5th gen reducing what little headroom there is.

yes you sat lower in the earlier gens. it was almost scary. even as a kid crawling into the back of a 3rd gen i described it as crawling into a hole. I also rode from phoenix to l.a. once in the back of a 4thgen and that gave me an unsettled feeling too, so it's nothing new. The 5th and 6thgen you can see out of, it feels like you're in a real seat compared to the earlier models. And yes there is less legroom, but even on the earlier gens i had big people in the back seat and i had to put the front seat forward for them.

That dealer is high priced compared to others.

2016 1SS for 34K or less should not be too hard to find.

I have read the threads on here for a long time. I've wanted a gen 5 since they came out. I bought my 2015 1ss/rs Nov 2nd (18 days before the end of production) because of the way the 16's look. Not a fan of big mouth bass,jk. On paper they look great, but that's it. I could have bought a 16 a couple wks later since they came out in Nov/Dec. they were available here. Now there are 40 local and my salesman hasn't sold one. Chevy though we would run to trade. It's not happening.

Do you know when 2015 production began?
