I've wondered this for a while and now I'm thinking I should just go ahead and ask the master Ted.
I have a full Dynatech exhaust, from headers to tailpipe with no cats. I want to deepen the "tone" a tad. Will installing high flow cats do this for me? Do high flow cats deepen the tone of an otherwise straight exhaust? Thanks! Camaro addict!

The cats will dumb down some of the RASP your getting for sure. Ted.

Ted, for the cat-less dudes, are there are any other options out there for tone deepening, (eg, some brand of resonatated X-pipe, etc?), or are hi-flo cats, the one and only go-to option available, to deepen that tone, and add more bass, to an other wise straight exhaust?

I think I'm going to use your idea. Quote:
With my 1 experience with a Magnaflow resonated X-pipe on an Audi 4.2 V8, it definately cut the dB more than I had anticipated. It gets the job done, but sometimes too much lol. I'll try the Vibrant in parallel option first, I think this will be spot on. |
