I've wondered this for a while and now I'm thinking I should just go ahead and ask the master Ted.
I have a full Dynatech exhaust, from headers to tailpipe with no cats. I want to deepen the "tone" a tad. Will installing high flow cats do this for me? Do high flow cats deepen the tone of an otherwise straight exhaust?
Thanks!

I am sorry I missed this guys, this was when the notification system wasn't working, so I wasn't getting any notifications.

The cats will dumb down some of the RASP your getting for sure.

Ted.

Ted, for the cat-less dudes, are there are any other options out there for tone deepening, (eg, some brand of resonatated X-pipe, etc?), or are hi-flo cats, the one and only go-to option available, to deepen that tone, and add more bass, to an other wise straight exhaust?

You could actually install Vibrant resonators in place of the cats.

Magnaflow resonated X is said to deepen the tone and reduce drone, however I've heard it quiets the exhuast down quite a bit.

Good call! I ompletely forgot about the Vibrant option. I've used them before on a previous different car, and came away quite impressed with their quality, looks, and sound.

I think I'm going to use your idea.

Yup.

With my 1 experience with a Magnaflow resonated X-pipe on an Audi 4.2 V8, it definately cut the dB more than I had anticipated. It gets the job done, but sometimes too much lol.

I'll try the Vibrant in parallel option first, I think this will be spot on.
