Myself and other mods here know the OP personally and know this car and know what "warranty" meant to the OP who did not want to modify the car until warranty was out. Yes, we are getting an actual account of the story. |

I just read this entire post from start to finish, and I am shocked that I didnt see the one post I was sure I would see:
No one from GM Customer Care has posted on here to have OP contact them to get this resolved. This is the fastest way to get GMs attention. |

It appears that your dealer has screwed you on this deal and placing the blame elsewhere. To complete your mission will become expensive, but if you must have the car to drive get it fixed by someone else. The process will take forever to complete and your car will just sit, this will get you back on the road. Then this will give you time to find someone that can help you present your case in a manner that will help get you money toward the bill of fixing the car, the dealer and GM have dug their feet in the sand and they aren't budging. This will be a bitch to complete with a lot of stress and aggravation.

Find a lawyer and not only sue for your bullshit warranty denial, but also file a class action suit for the oil pump failure which has been a very common problem name every person and company you can. Get your story to every media outlet you can. It's a damn shame that Companies charge us huge price tags for cars these days and skate responsibility when a problem comes up.
This really pisses me off. I buy a lot of GM vehicles personally and for my business. Im following your story. This gets fixed ,or I'm not longer a GM buyer. If we were really Camaro brothers here, like many say, you all would make this pledge too and stick to it. Let these bastards know that we are not putting up with their thievery anymore. the magnuson moss act states that a modification cannot be proved to have caused a failure...well it should be covered when its under the warranty. On the other hand also there is lemon laws in various states that also cover things... the repeated replacement of a oil pump which repeatedly starved the motor and its components for oil causing damage to it would be a great place to start along with the ACT..... Also talking directly to GM and going through another dealer and Filing Suit yourself for the estimated cost to replace the engine. Lawyers are like a plaque, You pay the fee for suit filing and guarantee you will get their attention, I have resolved things out of court several times with those that have wronged me, And with free advice from legal aid filed papers myself, and recovered what I wanted and it only cost me filing fees. The thing is the higher you go the more it costs, and if it were to go to court as I have been to before you better have all the documents form repairs, oil changes anything related to the operation of a simple catch can, and I would even have torn down the engine and bring in worn parts..... One time I brought a cylinder head to court, and yes I won.
But as far as being a day late and a dollar short, you may be screwed in that respect, so do the research, you do IMO have a right to expect a engine that's trouble free for the life of the warranty, if replacement of the pump should have extended the warranty, well that something to investigate, Good Luck.

This is a very isolated incident in GM's defense. Just think the dealer got a bit carried away here.

How does this petition work? Does it just go to the GM official that it is addressed to, after a certain amount of signatures are collected? Or does she have visibility to it already? Anyone know?
I signed already and was just curious.

very true. I know nobody wants to hear it, but any time you modify your vehicle you run this risk. the warranty you get is for the car as it is when it rolls off the assembly line. not your modified version of it. the burden of proof isn't really on them as you changed what they made. and Magnesson moss act isn't really for stuff like this. as far as cars go it's primary purpose is to prevent the manufacture from making you bring the car in to them regularly to perform oil changes and maintenance or void the warranty

You would think Elite would be on the phone with other Catch Can manufacturers and try to band together. If a CC is a warranty void sales will tank.
Maybe the dealer was being a PIG? I know GM pays for the warranty work but I don't think they pay FULL retail. Maybe they wanted the OP to pay because they tack on extra money? -bobby
