If I understand the story correctly, the first shop ran the motor after it was towed there, and then started hearing a noise, so there might be some damage now vs. just the oil pump failure

That where it all starts to go wrong. Mechanic was an absolute idiot starting the car with oil pump issues.

We've watched them do MANY things over the years to make things right or to check on vehicles even going to such lengths as to picking up vehicles at peoples houses, taking them back to Michigan, and working on them to figure it all out. I would say without a doubt absolutely NOT. Worse case installed incorrectly / kinked hose would build crankcase pressure and blow out the rear engine seal, leaving the car with an oil leak.

Here is an update. I found all the emails for:
Senior Vice President, Customer Experience, General Motors Company Alicia Boler-Davis Chairman & Chief Executive Officer, General Motors Company Mary T. Barra President, General Motors Company Dan Ammann President, North America, General Motors Company Alan Batey They will now all receive copies of the petition directly from CHANGE.ORG. Also, please do not feel obligated to contribute money to help circulate the petition. If this does not get resolved quickly, we may need everybody to chip in a few bucks to retain a lawyer, but as of now, the petition is doing quite well. Thanks to everybody who is helping. I'm a title 32 technician, I get paid well to work on vehicles. And based on everything I know as a mechanic, this is complete BS. I swear, if I blow my engine and GM tries to blame my CAI and exhaust I'll be right there with you lighting a fire under their asses. Ridiculous. I signed the petition and shared.
Oh, and any real mechanic wouldn't attempt to RUN an engine with oil pressure issues. I find the guy who says he has 25 years experience to be highly suspect for also being full of it. Where did you learn to turn wrenches? |

Like the rest of the posters here, I believe with the information posted, that the OP is being taken advantage of. This really infuriates me about what is happening with this. If GM really wants to press the matter, I am not brand loyal, I can add them to my "do not purchase list."
A warranty is something that we the customer pays for as part of the vehicle package. Is GM essentially saying that the customer cannot depend on them to stand behind the product that they are selling? |
