That's flatout lie.

They're idiots. I wouldn't want them working on my car at all, if they are that confused.

Good Morning KROLIS,

I can understand your frustrations after signing your release and then being informed you’ll still need the recall done to get any further repairs. While I can’t guarantee a different outcome could be reached, I would still be more than willing to look into this further with your dealership, Jeff Smith Chevrolet. If this would be of interest to you, please send us a private message with your VIN, full contact information, and current mileage.

Looking forward to your response,

Angela O.

To be completely honest, my knee never came anywhere even close when I used the switchblade key. With the recall key, my fob/house keys are almost always hitting my knee. Really debating going keyless instead, just have to find a way to justify the 600 bucks for the kit.

If it's bothering you guys so much. Just take your spare key and have them do the recall on that one and say your forgot the other key or keys. That what I did and I didn't have to do the recall on my main key. No more letters telling me to do the recall

Looking at your mod list why bother at all

Honestly, I've only received one notice way back in the beginning. When buying a car I'm always careful to ensure the right boxes are checked/unchecked around "don't contact me or use my information ever". Pretty sure this is why I never received the ZL1 certificate too. I also never give them my SSN either and a lot of times they insist, but it's not needed to title a car.

Anyway, this one is completely ridiculous and I wouldn't want that dealer touching my car anyway. Good luck.

I just took my car in to have the auto dimming outside mirror replaced for the second time, and I was very adamant that they do not do the recall on my key, I flat told the service guy if it was done they would be putting it back before I left the dealership. He wrote in big red marker on my worksheet not to do the recall. Will see what happens...

What kills me is the extended warranty people that still call me relentlessly... At first I would mention I wasn't interested and would hang up... Then I would stay on line long enough to tell them to remove me from their records data base... Then I would ask to speak to a supervisor, and ask why they keep calling... Remove me isn't plain enough..???

Now, I let them go through their entire spiel, interrupting occasionally to ask questions that take extensive time to explain, which of course lead to follow on questions... and then let them list all of their options... which of course, leads to more questions, like, if my backup camera quit working will that be covered in option A, or B, etc... after they look into option options, I then state well I don't have a backup camera... Now, bare in mind they have called me repeatedly and I asked to be removed from their data base...
So, then I ask if modifications are covered,
I usually get the "no, modifications are not covered"...
So, the pedal covers I put on the brake, clutch, and throttle are not covered... "No"
ok, well I don't think they'll break anyway... How about the rear seat belt retractor....
clicks on the keyboard, and "well maybe... possibly...
" yes or no? its a simple response, yes or no..."
Then I ask if the halo is covered on my cage...
"Uhh... what's that?" clicking in the background...
You know, the roll cage...
"Is that factory item"
No,
"Then it's not covered"
Oh, what about the turbo's?
"Are they factory installed?"
IDK, they are in there...
Clicking in the background...
"What year did you say your car was?"
I didn't but you told me this was for my 2010 Camaro when you called...
"I don't show.... "
Darn, I thought we were getting somewhere...
"Sir, we don't cover modifications"
Exactly my point, my car has a 417 cubic inch aftermarket engine making over 2000 HP, a quad disc clutch, a modified transmission, a nine inch aftermarket diff, axles, engine management system, radiator, roll cage, race seat, five point harness, etc... What will you cover...
"Uh, nothing, I'll remove you from the system...
Thanks, buh bye....

Yes I'm a butthead about it but that particular data base is notated...

However, I got one of them so bad he had me hold and transferred me to a manager... He still tried to sell me a policy... I sent him a link to an article about my car while we were talking and he said... UH...wow, ok never mind...

and yet they didnt question the 2000hp?

Well I kept getting the letters and it didn't hurt me at all for doing it. It's not like I use that key at all. I still use my flip key. Do what you gotta do I guess haha

I signed the waiver at my dealer right away, but I still get the post cards. I just toss them.

When I bought my 2015 the recall was already done. The dealer gave me two key rings. Each ring had a switchblade with no blade and a separate key. So I bought the blade replacements off of Amazon and took those to a local locksmith to have the blanks cut. The locksmith mounted the blanks back into the switchblade for me. Now I have four working keys. Two working switchblades and two separate keys from the dealer. When I take it to the dealer I just hand them one of the unattached keys and away I go.
