Umm actually race cars started off with it....because they didnt need a key.

Honestly, I don't understand whats so hard about putting your key in the ignition and turning it.

I mean, I understand that the push-button start is "cool," or like rodimus was saying - if you have a race car that doesn't have a key anyway, but it just seems to me like another thing to fail. I mean, I'd get manual windows and locks if I could.

I wouldn't mind having a push-button start as long as it required the key to be in the ignition. I despise smart keys though, they make cars SSSSOOOOOOO easy to steal.

Both my parents work for the sheriffs department and we are friends with all of the local repo men who repo cars for the law enforcement, local banks, and dealers. They absolutely love cars with smart keys. All it takes is about $100 and 5 seconds of your time and you have complete access to the persons car without them ever knowing it and without harming anything on the car. I've often heard them comment that cars with smart keys are the 2nd easiest car for them to repo with the easiest being cars with the keys left inside them.

well, technically you just have to bump the key into the ignition spot once and it will start itself (as in you don't have to hold the key forward).... sooooo KINDA like push button start, but the key is the button? reachin on that one, i know. And yeah, it wouldn't be a muscle car with it anyway.

But, in the end we are driving American muscle and it just wouldn't be muscle enough if you did not get in the car and crank that engine. Pushing a sissy little button in a muscle car just isn't muscle enough is the mentality most enthusiast have, get it? I'm not saying it would be horrible to have one but it's no longer a big deal once you look it the way I do now.
I like that haha ... I agree ... ITS MUSCLE!!!

Its nice to have in the winter time, when you don't want to rummage through all your pockets to find your key. Just get in, press the break+Button, and go.

Mind you, the auto-start is pretty close to the same thing, but still.

Correct me if I’m wrong but I haven't seen a push button car with remote start.
In that case I rather have remote start because I can crank the car up in my driveway and it's ready to roll as soon as I get in. I use it all the time.

I'm sure the two technologies are not going to interfere with eachother, it would be entirely possible to have a push-button ignition with remote start.

I really hope push button start is an option for the 2012 Camaro. I don't think its really about being lazy turning a key...I just think its cool.
