How the hell do you merge at 30 degrees?

Ok everyone has said the visibility in this car is a problem with the extra large C piller... i have not had any problems because i know how to work my mirrors in 99.9% of situations... however, i just do not see how it is possible to merge on to something at a greater angle than changing lanes and a less angle then an actual turn... something like this " /|| " ...

i was merging on to a road before at roughly a 30 degree angle and i could not see ANYTHING, the C pillar was right in teh way.. i tried every which way to look out the back window, or passenger window and i just couldnt see anything... i tried leaning foward to get a better angle on my side mirror but it wasnt wide enough.... i ended up having to turn my car to get a better angle on traffic behind me...

so how the hell do you do this without having to turn ur car a little again?

Try putting these in the lower inside corner of your mirrors. As dumb as they may look, they do a wonderful job of expanding your field of vision.

The blind spot is the only complaint I have about the car. I'm TERRIFIED I'm going to switch lanes or try to merge and end up hitting someone. In fact I dreamed I did it last night.

Have the same problem merging onto the freeway. Am thinking of getting one of those blind spot mirrors. I know they are ugly, but could give us a peace of mind. Had some on my old ford pickup. Also handy for seeing when backing up. They are round, about the size of a silver dallor. Haven't seen them for a while. Could be picked up at any car parts store.

Won't be a big deal for me.

hmm, those curved mirrors could help, but for years the way i drive, i always have to see with my own eyes the cars comming on a highway to merge on... i never merge on to one from dead stop with the mirrors cuz im TERRIFIED that a car will be in a blind spot and then there goes my brand new car and could be fatal

i may end up buying those but idk... ill see

I just look directly next to me and make sure nothing is there then give it the gas

no but seriously the blind spots are pretty bad, this car definantly makes you alert of everything that is going on around you

Blind spots don't bother me. To me, it makes for part of the driving experience. If I would have sat in the 5th gen and it would have had the visibility of our Tahoe, I wouldn't have bought it.

Huh??

Blind spots where the first thing I noticed when we looked at the Camaro. Big shoulders.... cut down side windows was a dead giveaway. after the dealer said they he didn't think it came with rear sensors/backup camera I told the wife fish eye mirrors for both sides a must. I have a Dodge Ram Mega Cab and thats all I use out of the dual side mirrors. As being part of the driving experience well its a part of it that you can avoid.

I don't think the blind spots are as bad as everyone says. the only time i can't see very well is backing out of a parking spot or backing up to parallel park. I try to avoid these situations by pulling in forward. As far as changing lanes you just have to be aware of whats going on around you. if you check behind you and maybe wait for someone you can see back there to pass before you change your lane you will be fine. On merging just try and look a lot sooner at what traffic you can see and that should help as well. Look in your mirror at what you can see and look for an opening, if you try to be too aggressive with merging with this car or changing lanes you will make a mistake sooner or later. This car makes you drive better by keeping you aware of whats around you, just be careful.
