Maybe we need to do our own race. Bone stock factory cars and let them have at it.

This is genius but completely logical. 24 Hours of Le Moneý?

Where we sit around a campfire on the track grounds and argue about restrictions and limitations for literally 24 hours?

Shno's Unbelievably Professional Endurance Racing? I think it's a great idea. Racing the way it used to be instead of the nauseatingly artificial "everything must be equal" political correctness that's currently the fashion. Real competition instead of conformation and sand bagging.

I like it!

Exactly! This should produce even better production vehicles. To really compare chassis the only thing I would stipulate is that all vehicles have the same Power-to-weight.

2016 Camaro did well but didn't win it's category in Initial Quality.

http://www.jdpower.com/cars/study/20...porty-Car/1077

2013 Camaro did win it's category in the JD Power Dependability Survey.

http://www.jdpower.com/cars/awards/V...ategory/843ENG

Used to spend a lot of time with the surveys. Yes, they can be biased by the nature of the question, but it is looking for "problems" in the customers eyes. The big deal now is if you can't get your Bluetooth to sync, that is a "problem". That doesn't really impact the durability of a car, but if it's supposed to provide a feature or function and it doesn't do it reliably that can be a problem. A lot of talk about weighing a transmission or engine problem compared to telematics and radio controls.

But for most customers, replacing a sensor that caused the engine to stop and leave you by the side of the road isn't much different than a blown engine that left you sitting by the side of the road. A huge difference in cost to repair for the OEM between those two, but both constitute leaving the customer waiting for a tow truck.

Also for Le Mans, I would hate to think anything was biased in a way to give Ford an advantage for the 50th anniversary. Especially since they hadn't bothered to be there lately.

But one of the Corvettes crashed out and that has little to do with restrictor plates and weight.

Either way I know team Corvette was disappointed.

Also, very quiet on the Z front. Next batch of "news" may be the ZL1 reviews. Guessing late summer?

Wouldn't it make more sense to compare the 2016 Camaro IQS to the 2010 IQS? Over the course of a production run, improvements get made. Plus, isn't it a different set of questions for VDS compared to IQS? Or is dependability just the aggregate of 3 years worth of quality surveys?

A first year Gen6 "should be" much better than a first year Gen5 so it's hard to compare. Plus the rate of improvement "should be" better as well. Doesn't mean it is but tough to compare.

IMO it's a must as the Z/28 will be 50.

Whatever the Z/28 is, and I think we are all believers that there will be one shortly, I hope they find a way to make it more affordable. If not, then it becomes a low volume car simply for track day participants.

If all they do is take the ZL1 pricing and go higher still it will likely be a $70,000 car again. It would be nice to see the Z/28 a little more common. That sounds odd re reading it, but I've yet to see one on the road.

Z/28 and then a track version?

CC brakes as an option (Z07 package?)

It will have to do and be something different, otherwise there is no reason to have a ZL1 and a Z/28 so perhaps a more affordable Z/28 can't be in the cards any longer. Otherwise you are just splitting sales.

But could (or should) the Z/28 slot between the SS and the ZL1 price wise?
